Chapter 108 Meeting for the Child’s Sake
Abigail quickly realized that the officer must be Justin.
She thought, “They… together? In the wine cellar? And things got intense?”
The more she thought about it, the more curious she became. She wanted to ask more, but the bartender didn’t know much more than that.
What he did know was that Amy and Justin had gone to the hospital early that morning because Justin had suffered a head injury.
After that, Amy was never seen again.
The more the bartender spoke, the more Abigail felt something wasn’t right.
Unable to contain her curiosity, she rushed out, eager to call Amy and get the truth.
This time, someone answered the phone.
“Abigail, I had my phone on silent today and just saw all the missed calls. Why so many?”
Chapter 108 Meeting for the Child’s Sake Hearing Amy’s voice, Abigail finally felt relieved.

She didn’t waste a moment and quickly asked, “Where are you now? I think it’s necessary for us to meet and clear things up about you and Justin.”
Hearing this, Amy became a little shy.
“Wow, this is so embarrassing. You already know?”
Hearing this, Abigail was even more eager now.
Twenty minutes later, they met at the café they agreed upon.
Abigail had a lot of questions to ask.
But before she could bring herself to ask them. Amy, impatient as always, blurted everything out.
She said, “Abigail, I’ve made up my mind. I’m going after Justin! Honestly, I’ve been waiting outside the police station all day today. You wouldn’t believe how busy this guy is, but the more he works, the better. A man like him won’t have time to fool around, so he’s safe!”
Abigail was taken aback by Amy’s excitement.
She remembered the last time they were together. Amy couldn’t even stand Justin.
How in just a few days had things changed so much? She was so excited just mentioning Justin’s name.
Chapter 108 Meeting for the Child’s Sake “Wait a minute. Didn’t you dislike him before? Now you’re actively pursuing him?”

Amy’s eyes sparkled with admiration as she answered, “Yesterday, he saved me. To save me, he even got hurt himself.”
Amy then told Abigail what happened the night before in the wine cellar.
Abigail picked up on the important part. “So… why did you stay up late and go to the wine cellar? What for?”
She almost revealed her original plan, but Amy quickly swallowed and changed the subject.
“That’s not important. The important thing is… guess what I found out?”
Abigail raised an eyebrow. “Go on.”
“Abigail, do you remember? I once used the money my me to sponsor a college student.”

Abigail immediately understood but couldn’t quite believe it was a coincidence.
“So… he couldn’t be the student you sponsored, could he?”
Amy nodded furiously.
“I even went back today to check the name on the sponsorship

certificate. I never paid much attention to it before, but today I looked carefully and confirmed it was him.”
Amy beamed with pride. “Don’t you think this is fate?”
Abigail had to admit that there seemed to be some kind of mysterious connection between Amy and Justin.
Otherwise, why would they have ended up at the police station for fighting twice, with Justin always being the one responsible?
But hearing this made her feel a bit worried.
Noticing Abigail’s changing expression, Amy paused. “What’s wrong, Abigail? Didn’t you say you thought he was a good guy before? Why do you look unhappy now?”
Abigail shook her head. “If you two end up together, I’ll be happy for you. But… Amy, have you thought about this? Justin is a man. He may have a stable job, but his income doesn’t compare to yours. Plus, with the whole sponsorship thing, what if he finds out one day and feels unbalanced?”
Amy waved it off. “Is that really a big deal? We just don’t let him know, right?”
“It’s not that simple. If things really progress between you two, you can’t hide it forever.”
Amy, clearly swept up by her feelings, wasn’t thinking about the long term.
Chapter 108 Meeting for the Child’s Sake “Don’t worry, Abigail. Things will work themselves out. We’ll deal with it later. For now, I just need to win him over.

“Besides, it’s just a sponsorship. It’s not a big deal. He shouldn’t care about it too much, right?”
Abigail could tell that Amy wasn’t really listening to anything she said.
Justin was a good guy, and he and Amy made a great match.
Abigail decided not to say more.
Her only concern was that in relationships, if she was more successful than him, it could easily lead to feelings of insecurity or jealousy, causing conflicts.
But… she didn’t think Justin was that kind of person.
They wrapped up the conversation.
Amy was eager for Abigail to give her advice on how to win Justin over.
Before they could talk more, Abigail’s phone rang.
It was from Anthony.
Abigail hesitated but ultimately picked up. After all, they were divorced now, and there was no need to cut all ties.
At that moment, Anthony lay in bed, feeling uneasy with a slight

Lying in bed, restless and uneasy, he inexplicably dialed her number.
He thought she wouldn’t pick up, but to his surprise, the call connected.
He quickly sat up straight, mouth opening and closing, unsure of what to say.
Abigail spoke first, “Is there something you need?”
Anthony took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. “Abigail, I… I want to meet you.”
Abigail pursed her lips. “Whatever it is, you can say it over the phone.”
Anthony felt a sense of urgency, much like what Ryan had said that if he missed this last chance, he might lose Abigail forever.
That feeling was overwhelming, and it made it impossible for him to relax.
“Abigail, Marcus has special needs. There are many things that require special attention when taking care of him. I need to meet
for the with you to go over everything. Even if it’s not for me, sake of the child, can we meet?”
This was the first time Abigail had ever heard Anthony speak to her in such a tone of pleading.
Chapter 108 Meeting for the Child’s Sake She didn’t know what his true intentions were.
But she could tell he was in a bad state.

She understood Anthony well enough to know that if she didn’t. agree to meet him now, he’d probably show up at her company
tomorrow.
The incident with Diana had been enough.
After thinking it over, Abigail reluctantly told him the address.
Anthony quickly got dressed and left for the café.
As soon as Abigail hung up, she turned to find Amy glaring at her in anger.
“You really agreed to meet him? Abigail, things have already gone this far. You’re not going to back down, are you?”
It had ended with Abigail softening every time they fought before.
Amy’s concerns were understandable.
Abigail shook her head.
“Don’t worry, I’ve moved on and started a new life. I won’t make the same mistake again, it’s just…”
Abigail hesitated.
Meeting for the Child’s Sake Amy frowned. “Just what? Don’t do anything foolish!”
