Chapter 113 Scary
Before Abigail could even get a word in, Amy went off like a firecracker, blurting out, “Abigail, did you catch my message? What do I do? Should I go on this date tonight? What if he turns me down? I’m not mentally prepared. This can’t be happening to me, can it? Is it even possible that my first–ever move to chase someone ends in a rejection?”
Abigail could practically visualize Amy’s current state a tousled mess, probably tossing and turning all night long.
She knew if she didn’t chime in soon, Amy would be losing her
mind.
“Hey, Amy, just calm down. You’re not a fresh out of the nest bird anymore. Staying up all night worked up like this could give you a heart attack,” she reasoned.
But Amy couldn’t calm her nerves at all. “Abigail, I’m going bananas. Tell me what to do!”
Abigail sighed and headed to the bathroom to splash some water on her face, while mentally breaking down the situation for
Amy.
She said, “If you’ve got the guts to go after him, can’t you handle the risk of being rejected? Besides, you barely talk to him every day. If he says no, there are only two scenarios.
“One, you can’t stomach the outcome and can’t face him again, making you both strangers.

“Either way, you aren’t losing anything. And love is supposed to make you feel good. Why so worked up?”
Despite her words, Amy still felt all knotted up inside.
“But I…”
Abigail cut her off. “I know. This is your first time chasing a guy. You’ve always been the princess being chased, so taking such a bold step with the risk of rejection must be tough. But you should’ve seen this coming when you decided to go after him. Since you can’t be sure of success, just keep your cool.”
Amy fell silent after that.
To be honest, when she vowed to pursue Justin, she never expected him to give her an answer so soon.
Noticing Amy had finally simmered down, Abigail continued. “Plus, how do you know he’ll definitely say no? What if he agrees to be your boyfriend? Don’t be such a downer.”
Amy knew these things herself, but hearing them from someone else gave her a sense of relief.
By the time Abigail finished washing her face, Amy had also calmed down.
She looked up to wipe her face and saw Felix standing behind. her in the mirror. She didn’t react right away and let out a
scream.
Felix was taken aback by her reaction too.

“What’s going on?” Amy asked over the phone, thinking something had happened.

It took Abigail a moment to snap out of it and realize Felix had stayed over.
She turned around somewhat awkwardly and smiled at Felix. “Good morning, Mr. Rowe.”
Felix looked less than thrilled. “Am I that scary?”
Abigail quickly waved her hand. “No, I was just startled by someone popping up behind me out of nowhere!”
After saying that, Abigail picked up her phone and beat a hasty
retreat.
However, Amy on the phone heard their conversation loud and clear and was both shocked and thrilled. Felix was at Abigail’s place first thing in the morning.
This meant they had successfully started cohabiting!
Not wanting to intrude, Amy hung up the phone quickly and felt much clearer–headed.
Considering Felix had been secretly crushing on Abigail for years and had the guts to confess to her, Amy felt she was being
immature to be nervous all night over such a minor
way to
thing.
She should hit the hay right away and get dolled up beautifully for her date tonight!
Chapter 113 Scary
Like Abigail said, she had nothing to fear.
Meanwhile, Abigail was clueless that Amy had got the wrong idea about her and Felix. She retreated to her room to collect
herself for a bit.

When she finally got dressed and dolled up, she noticed Felix. had already laid out breakfast on the table.
Abigail ambled back and asked, a bit sheepishly, “Should I send some to Vanessa?”
Felix was already slicing up some fried eggs and replied, “I’ve already taken care of that.”
Truth be told, Abigail felt a twinge of guilt eating breakfast cooked by her boss.
But then she remembered he wasn’t her personal chef, and he used ingredients she had bought anyway. So, she happily tucked into Felix’s cooking once more.
Vanessa’s court case was set for tomorrow. According to the plan, Felix was supposed to meet with the overseas property agent today to dig up evidence of the guy’s marital asset transfers.
Abigail figured she’d tag along, but Felix didn’t seem to have that in mind.
“Sophia has a court case today. You should go and watch,” he said.
Abigail was caught off guard and asked, “Don’t I need to come.

Felix shook his head. “I got this. What you need to do is watch how Sophia handles her case. It might come in handy for your quals.”

Abigail was all for watching a seasoned lawyer in action. But after all this time, she felt a bit awkward taking Felix’s assistant salary without pulling her weight.
Plus, she felt like her boss was footing the bill for her education.
Secing Abigail’s hesitation, Felix poured a glass of milk. “What’s eating you? Don’t you want to go?” he asked.
Abigail shook her head. “No, I’ve heard Sophia’s a sharp lawyer. I’d love to watch her defense, but…”
Felix looked at Abigail as she hung her head a bit.
“I’m your assistant, but I haven’t lifted a finger to help you. I’ve been studying for my quals instead. This seems a bit off,” she said.
Felix wiped his mouth and stood up. “I’m investing in your growth, alright? I don’t want people thinking my assistant’s a slacker who can’t pass the bar exam.”
Abigail didn’t say anything.
Felix slipped on his shoes by the door and said before he left, “Abigail, don’t sweat it. If you’re embarrassed, just knock that bar exam out of the park. With that certificate, you’ll be golden.” And with that, Felix was out the door.
Abigail was alone in the room, suddenly filled with
Chapter 113 Scary exam date.
Counting down the days, she realized she only had a month. left. Time was of the essence, and the task was daunting. Even though she had attended a law school, brushing up on knowledge in the past wasn’t a walk in the park.

Within the short time, she had to be well–prepared for a difficult exam. Even though she had attended a law school, brushing up on knowledge in the past wasn’t an easy task.
But she had faith.
After sorting out the court hearing details with Sophia over the phone, Abigail bolted downstairs and pedaled her bike towards her destination.
