Watching her small figure as she muttered to herself, Felix. couldn’t help but smile faintly.
Sunlight streamed through the glass, bathing her in a golden glow.
It was as if she were enveloped in a layer of gold.
Felix was completely lost in the moment when Abigail suddenly stopped in her tracks and turned around.
Caught off guard, he continued walking and bumped right into
her.
He barely noticed the pain in his hand. He just froze in place.
Looking into Abigail’s eyes at such close range, he swore he could hear his own heartbeat.
Abigail stood stunned for a few seconds before quickly stepping back, her attention immediately going to his hand.
“Are you okay? Did I hurt you?”
Felix snapped out of it, grimacing in pain.
“Oh man, I’m done for. It hurts so much–you’ve got to take responsibility for this!”

Felix was finally satisfied, tilting his chin up as he walked alongside Abigail.
On the way back, Abigail was driving when she stopped at a fresh market near the neighborhood.
“I’ll grab some groceries. Your hand isn’t in great shape, so just stay in the car and wait for me.”
Felix glanced at the supermarket and noticed that it was indeed crowded at this hour.
In his current state, he figured he wouldn’t be much help.

He obediently nodded and stayed put in the car.
Abigail got out and headed into the supermarket.
This scene, however, was spotted by Anthony from a distance.
After leaving the bridal shop, he had tried calling Abigail repeatedly, but she kept rejecting his calls. Frustrated, he decided to wait for her here.
Seeing Abigail enter the supermarket while Felix stayed in the car, Anthony’s eyes sank.
He threw his freshly lit cigarette onto the ground and stomped it
out.
Then, he strode straight toward Felix’s car.

He walked right up to the car and knocked on the window.
Still keeping his eyes shut, Felix lazily rolled down the window.
“What is it?”
The more indifferent Felix acted, the more it grated on Anthony.
“What happened? Tried to play the hero but ended up getting yourself hurt?”
Felix finally opened his eyes and lazily glanced at him.
“You didn’t come all this way just to take a jab at me, did you?
“What’s the matter? Here to see Abigail? Look, I’m just saying -you’re a CEO, for God’s sake. Chasing after your ex–wife like this? Aren’t you embarrassed?”
Being seen through so easily made Anthony’s face darken with embarrassment.
“This is between Abigail and me. It’s none of your business. But I’d advise you to stay away from her.”

Felix raised an eyebrow. “Oh?”
Anthony adopted a superior stance, looking down at Felix arrogantly.
“Do you have any idea what kind of life Abigail had when she was with me? She never had to worry about money. A single. purse of hers costs more than you’d make handling several cases. You really think you, a small–time lawyer, can support a woman like that?”
Felix didn’t respond, but the mocking smile on his lips deepened.
Seeing this, Anthony refused to back down and continued.
“She’s only with you for the novelty of it. Once the excitement wears off, can you give her the life she wants? She’s just playing around with you. Abigail has loved me for so many years- there’s no way she’s let me go this easily. I’m telling you. You’d better walk away now before things get too embarrassing for
you.”
Hearing this, Felix finally let out a mocking laugh.
“I may not know exactly what kind of life she wants, but I’m pretty sure she doesn’t want one where she’s left alone while her husband flirts with his mistress right in front of her.”

Anthony was so furious he was practically losing control.
Felix’s unexpected response completely threw Anthony off balance.
Seeing Anthony’s frustrated and angry expression, Felix rested his arm casually on the car door.
Mockingly, Felix said, “Mr. Robinson, you’re quite the character. When Abigail was with you, you didn’t appreciate her and chose to fool around instead. Now that she’s left and made room for your mistress, you’re here acting all heartbroken and clinging to her.
“You couldn’t love her wholeheartedly, yet you still want to drive everyone else out of her life. Don’t you think this kind of self–sabotaging behavior is just a little psychotic?”
“You!” Anthony’s face turned green with rage. “You don’t know a damn thing! I’m saying this for your own good. I’ve been with Abigail for so long–do you think I don’t know her? There’s no way she’s moved on from me.”
Felix snorted. “I really don’t know where someone as average as you get all this confidence. I’ve known Abigail just as long as you have. From what I know, she hasn’t just moved on from you- she’ll never make the same mistake again.”

Anthony froze for a moment, his brows furrowing as he picked up on a key point.
“What do you mean? ‘You’ve known Abigail as long as I have‘? When did you two meet? And when did you start scheming together?”
Felix gave him a cold smile. “Our relationship isn’t as filthy as yours with your mistress. If you really loved Abigail, you wouldn’t think so poorly of her.”
Felix’s expression turned serious as he looked directly at Anthony. “Save your breath. Let me make one thing crystal clear -no matter who leaves Abigail, I won’t. I’ll always stay by her side.”
Anthony’s fists clenched so tightly they were almost shaking, his teeth grinding in frustration.
Felix didn’t back down, meeting Anthony’s glare head–on.
The tension between the two was at a breaking point, and it seemed like the next moment would end in a brawl.
At that critical moment, Abigail walked out of the supermarket.
She was carrying several bags of groceries.
As soon as she came out, she saw Anthony standing next to the car, and the tension between him and Felix was obvious.
She quickly ran over.
