Kicked Out of the Wealthy Family, Four Brot…
Chapter 27 No Thanks for Hollow Concerns
1/6
Timothy shot a cold glare at Daniel. “Jennifer is my fiancée now, not some puppet for the Hargreaves family.”
Daniel retorted, “But your engagement is just a contractual arrangement. According to the agreement, Mr. Clark, you have no right to meddle in my sister’s affairs.”
“Until that contract is dissolved, she remains my fiancée! If the Hargreaves family is uninterested in continuing this partnership, feel free to cancel it at any time!”
Timothy’s voice was firm, leaving Daniel momentarily speechless. He couldn’t bring himself to say that the partnership should end.
After all, when Asher’s company was on the brink of bankruptcy, it was Jennifer’s engagement to Timothy that saved it.
Terminating the cooperation now would plunge Asher’s company back into chaos.
Frustrated, Daniel replied, “But my sister’s engagement to you is nothing but a sham. I hope you don’t start taking it seriously. Stay away from her!”
Timothy scoffed, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “Now you
Chapter 27 No Thanks for Hollow Concerns care about her? Where was this concern before?”

Eric, standing nearby, chimed in, “If I hadn’t just witnessed you grab Ms. Hargreaves‘ model and pressure her to apologize to the teacher, I would have doubted she’s actually your sister. What kind of brother treats a stranger better than his own blood?”
Daniel shouted, “You have no idea! Sarah’s mother saved Jennifer’s life!”
Eric said, “paying debts comes in many forms, but throwing Ms. Hargreaves under the bus is just absurd!”
Timothy interrupted, “We’re leaving.”
With that, Eric fell silent, having reached his limit of patience.
The situation was simply too much for him; he had never seen such favoritism from a brother.
Jennifer walked into the classroom and settled down just as Vincent began the lesson.
Her mind, however, drifted; Timothy’s unexpected appearance weighed heavily on her thoughts.
Once class concluded, Vincent called for her, “Jennifer, can you stay behind? I’d like to discuss some issues regarding the design model.”
Chapter 27 No Thanks for Hollow Concerns “Of course,” she replied without hesitation.

Sarah glared with envy at Jennifer as she stayed behind.
Jealousy bubbled within her; she had long aspired to be part of Vincent’s projects but kept running into obstacles.
Sarah had hoped to leverage the model Jennifer created to leave a good impression, but now that avenue was cut off thanks to Jennifer.
As frustrated as she was, Sarah had no choice but to bide her time. But giving up? That was off the table.
In the classroom, Jennifer detailed her design ideas to Vincent. She had actually held back on sharing the most critical elements before, but now she wanted to impress him.
After she finished explaining, Vincent looked genuinely amazed. “Jennifer, you’ve really leveled up!”
Vincent had previously held reservations about her progress, but this time, after her thorough presentation, he believed she genuinely had what it took.
Jennifer smiled shyly, saying, “I’ve come to understand a few things.”
Vincent added, “That’s good to hear. I have a project coming up, and I’d love for you to join. Your insights just solved a major problem for me. Welcome to my design team!”
Chapter 27 No Thanks for Hollow Concerns “Thank you, Professor Moore! I’ll give it my all.”
Jennifer was taken aback by his direct invitation. She had thought she would need to work harder to earn such an opportunity.

After their discussion wrapped up, Jennifer leaned on her cane and slowly made her way out of the classroom and toward the study room.
She needed to hit the books and refresh her knowledge to prepare for joining Vincent’s team.
After all, she wanted to be equipped with as much expertise as possible.
After settling down in the study room, Jennifer received a message from Jesse: [Ms. Hargreaves, it’s certainly an honor to collaborate with you.]
Jennifer: [I’ll send you the song first and get your thoughts.]
She attached the song she’d written, “Rainy,” and sent it right
over.
Jesse replied promptly: [This is really well–written. Are you sure you don’t want to collaborate with Daniel?]
Jennifer responded: [Yes, I’m sure. If anyone else is interested in this song, I’m open to a collaboration.]
Jesse said: [I’ll check around and see what I can find.]

Jennifer was in need of money.

There was no way she’d give the song to Daniel, even if it meant selling it to someone else.
Immersed in her book, she didn’t notice how much time had
passed until her stomach gave a loud growl. Glancing at the clock, she realized it was already late.
Jennifer packed up her things and headed out, but just as she was about to leave, her phone rang.
Glancing at the screen, she saw it was Asher calling.
She didn’t answer.
As Jennifer approached the school gate, she spotted Asher’s car parked by the curb.
Asher looked frustrated. “Why didn’t you pick up when I called you?”
Jennifer’s expression remained cold. “Didn’t notice it. My hands were full.”
As he noticed her limping with a cane, Asher’s concern deepened. “How bad is the injury? Why hasn’t it healed yet? Has the Clark family even gotten you proper medical care? Let me take you to the hospital!”
Jennifer brushed his hand away. “I’m fine. I’m heading back

now.”

But Asher wasn’t about to let her go that easily. He grabbed her wrist firmly.
“Where do you think you’re going? The Hargreaves Villa is your home. You’re coming back with me!”
