In that split second, Lily burst into laughter. “I was just fooling around. You don’t have to take it seriously.” Then, she changed the topic and gestured to him. “Come and eat with me. You’ve had a lot to drink just now, and I’m sure you haven’t gotten much to eat.” She ordered a little too much, so she definitely wouldn’t be able to finish her food.
Looking at the food on the table, Samson said, “You have a poor stomach. You shouldn’t eat so much spicy food.” He looked at the time and continued, “I’m not going to stay as I still have some documents to see. You know your ex–husband. He would murder me if I neglected my work.”
Lily nodded. “Alright. You should head back to work then. We can have a meal together when you have time. We haven’t eaten together in a while.”
“Sure.” Samson answered with a nod..
Lily didn’t see him out and instead continued to eat her meal slowly.
Every now and then, she would glance at the other pill placed on the table. Although the pill definitely eased a lot of her troubles, she couldn’t help but feel uneasy since this was her first time taking it.
Right then, she came to a halt as she felt herself ridiculous.
I’ve never gotten pregnant, although I didn’t use any contraceptives in the past. I don’t think it’ll happen this time. I’m just being paranoid. Thinking about it, she placed the utensils down as h houghts impacted her mood.
There was a mini fridge in the room that was filled with juice and other canned drinks. She went over and -got herself a canned drink, which felt cold against her skin. She didn’t want to eat it, so she headed to the
window and looked out.
Looking out, she saw only a few people at the beach, seemingly as if they were out for a stroll.
Lily smiled after watching them for a while. She didn’t know why, but she felt hypocritical ever since she came out. Now, she felt extremely lonely. Although there weren’t many people who really acknowledged her existence when she was in the Taylor Family, at least she had people around her.
Lily waited for a little longer before she changed and left her room.
There was a bar downstairs that was only accessible for guests. Lily hadn’t planned on entering, but it was bustling. She couldn’t hold herself back as she headed over and found an empty spot in a corner.
The waiter hurried over to take her order.
“Do you have plain water?” she asked with a smile.
The waiter was surprised but still nodded. “Yes.”
Lily couldn’t drink alcohol but could still eat some snacks, so she got herself some snacks and fruits.
With her legs crossed, she glanced around the bar before focusing on the singer performing on stage.
The person caught her attention as he was strumming on a guitar while he sang. It was a foreign song Although she didn’t understand the words, the soft melody captured her heart.

Once her food and drinks arrived, she sipped the water. Right then, the singer’s eyes scanned the crowd, and their gazes met.
Lily raised her glass of water toward the singer, who smiled in return. She then took a sip before leaning against her chair.
Is this what it feels like to be single? I can flirt with anyone. This feels great.
Most of the guests at the bar were couples, but there were also a few who came alone.
She was no longer bothered by it as she ate some fruit before taking her phone out.
She didn’t have many friends, so she couldn’t even find a person to text.
Finally, she decided to text Samson. ‘Come over once you’re done with work. After she sent the message, she attached a video of the singer performing.
Soon enough, Samson responded. ‘You’re out again? That’s quick.
Lily smiled and was in the mood to fool around. I’m out to see if I can find a man to spend the night with me. Even she felt like she was a little too shameless after she sent the text.
