Samson nodded solemnly. “Do you know what happened back when I answered your ex–husband’s phone. call? That woman was standing outside his room with barely anything dressed at that time. It looked like she was offering herself to him. Fortunately, your ex–husband didn’t lose his cool during that situation. Guess what happened next.”
He left Lily in suspense as he stared at her with a mysterious expression.
Lily eventually decided to give in and play along. “What happened?”
Samson answered, “That woman confessed to your ex–husband. She claimed that she had loved him for a long time. But your ex–husband wasn’t moved at all. He told her that he was in a loving relationship with his wife.
Naturally, this was something Samson made up.
Then, he continued. “That woman flew into a rage and claimed that your ex–husband must have been drugged when she heard that. Moreover, she accused him of having relations with another woman, and his reputation would be ruined if this matter is to be spread.” Samson continued with his nonsense with a serious expression, “Your ex–husband only laughed in her face. He admitted to being drugged, but he claimed that he was with his wife during that time. His wife! Wouldu believe that? That sounds so…
That sounds so what? Lily was tempted to ask.
However, she held the words on the tip of her tongue when she saw the exaggerated expression on his face.
Samson continued to stare at her as he added, “Let’s be honest. Most men would lose their heads under the influence of drugs. They wouldn’t be picky under those circumstances. Any woman would do. It didn’t matter who it was. But not your ex–husband, though. He withstood the entire ordeal by his sheer willpower. That’s really something!”
Lily paused for a moment, got off the bed, walked over to the window, and checked on the weather outside.
It was a sunny day, and the sun was blisteringly hot.
However, she felt cold for some reason. She had no idea why she felt a gust of chilling wind in her heart.
What Samson said was likely exaggerated. Nevertheless, the part about that woman offering herself to Robert is probably true.
Lily did not continue the conversation following that. She said after quite a while, “I’m a little hungry. I’m going to grab a bite downstairs.”
Samson stood up and asked, “Are you feeling unwell in your stomach? Did you skip breakfast?”
Samson realized what he had said probably made it to her heart now that she was trying to change the topic.
It was good enough as long as she listened and considered what he said seriously. It was already half the battle won in Samson’s eyes.

But Samson replied earnestly, “Who knows what kind of food you’ll order if I don’t go with you? Listen, your stomach isn’t doing well. So, you should be eating something light. You can’t take things like these lightly.”
Lily chuckled. She gave in after staring at him for a long while. “Fine. Let’s go.
Samson’s ways of handling things were questionable, but he always meant good for Lily.
They walked out of her room following that. Samson ran over to Robert’s room and knocked on the door when they were heading to the elevator.
He asked without waiting for Robert to open his door, “Lily and I are going downstairs for lunch, boss. Why don’t you join us? You haven’t had lunch yet, am I right?”
On the other hand, Lily only stood there with her heart sank as she glared at Samson.
I knew I shouldn’t have felt touched by his words. He pretends to care about me, but he just wants to bring Robert and me back together in truth!
It was something Lily couldn’t quite understand. Samson seemed to have some sort of obsession to fix the relationship between Robert and her.
Just then, Robert opened the door and looked at Samson. He also took a glance at Lily, who was about to
walk into the elevator.
To her surprise, Robert didn’t reject the invitation. On the contrary, he agreed to join them.
She heard his reply as clear as day, for the corridor was empty at that instant.
She froze in her tracks, but she did not turn around.
However, she couldn’t help but recall what Samson had just said. That woman had come knocking on Robert’s door.
She wondered what sort of situation they would be in right now if Robert complied with her. Her walk turned into strode as she thought about that.
Was she offering herself to him?
What a joke.
Lily waited by the elevator before Robert and Samson came over together.
Robert wore a poker face as usual. He always had strict control over his facial expressions.
On the other hand, Samson was grinning. “We might as well eat together since none of us have eaten yet.”
But no one paid him any attention. He began to feel awkward after smiling to himself for a while and the smile on his face gradually disappeared.

The restaurant was on the first floor. There were a lot of people by the time Robert and Lily entered.
Luckily, there were still seats available.
Samson said to Lily as he pointed to a corner. “Why don’t you two go over there and take a seat? I’m going to check out the buffet over there.”
Thus, Lily and Robert walked toward the spot Samson pointed at without looking at one another.
Their seats were in a relatively quiet corner.
Lily and Robert sat opposite each other at first. But, Robert suddenly got up and sat by her side after picking up the menu.
Lily was shocked, and she turned her head at him to let her feelings known.
However, Robert was expressionless as he lowered his head to read the menu. He said in a soft voice, “Stay put. Let’s just order something.
Naturally. Lily more or less realized what was going on following that.
