The familiar scene made me tremble.
But Ashley and the parents saw it as guilt.
Ashley’s eyes lit up. “Sarah, I can’t believe
you’re this kind of person!”
“When I asked you to save the kids, you pushed
me away and said you’d die with them! This
kindergarten let in a dangerous child–hater!”
The parents, who’d all lost their kids, lost
control.
They screamed, threatening to kill me.
Mike didn’t care that his wife was about to be
beaten. He just added fuel to the fire.

panel in your class…”
Ashley gasped. “No way! It can’t be…”

“Sarah, how could you set a fire and kill thirty
kids?”
The parents erupted.
One father ran up and slapped me hard.
“You evil bitch! You killed my kid!”
More parents dropped to their knees, crying.
“How could they hire such a monster? My poor
baby!”
“She’s a snake! How could she kill thirty
children?”

The noise attracted the principal and the media.
Reporters had arrived to cover the fire.
Hearing the parents‘ accusations, they snapped
pictures of me, disgust written on their faces.
Someone called the cops.
The police pushed through the crowd, saying,
“Sarah, we’re investigating you for arson and
murder. You’re coming with us.”
The same old story.
I looked the cop in the eye, shaking my head.
“I didn’t start the fire, and I didn’t kill anyone.
Whoever reported me needs to prove it.”
Ashley stepped forward.
“I called the cops! I have proof! Sarah

deliberately started the fire and killed those
kids!”
“Check the electrical panel. Her fingerprints are
all over it!”
Silence.
Then, more rage and hatred, everyone glaring at
me, ready to tear me apart.
I didn’t miss the look Ashley and Mike
exchanged.
Suddenly, everything clicked.
Mike and Ashley were together, behind my
back.
The police moved to arrest me.
I backed away, looking at the crowd.

“What do you mean? The evidence is clear! Are you going to lie?” Ashley said, with a sarcastic
smile. “Just confess! You’ll get a lighter
sentence!”
“Don’t talk to her! Just arrest her!”
“She’s not even human! She should be killed!”
The parents were furious, ready to rip me apart.
If the cops weren’t there, they would.
Ashley grinned, and the police walked up and
put handcuffs on me.
I pushed them away and looked up.
“I have proof I didn’t hurt anyone…”
“What proof? The kids are dead! What proof do
you have?” Ashley couldn’t wait to see me

I just smiled and turned.
I’d waited so long.
Revenge was finally here.
