Five months pregnant, my
husband’s lover came to our house
and set fire
Chapter 1
Five months pregnant, and my husband’s
soulmate, his “the one,” shows up at our
place to start a fire.
I didn’t call Ryan, just grabbed a wet cloth,
covered my face, and waited for the fire
department.
Because last time, in the first timeline, I
panicked, called him home, begged him to
rush me to the ER.
We saved the baby, yeah, but Ashley ended
up roasted alive that same day.
く
He swore he didn’t blame me, told me to
relax, focus on the pregnancy, even took time
off work to take care of me.
Then, the day our kid was born, he slit the
poor thing’s throat.
He and then he burned us both alive.
In my last seconds, staring through the flames, I saw his twisted, hateful face.
“If it weren’t for you, Ashley would still be
alive! You think you can play the victim, fool
me? Dream on! You’re paying for this!”
“You like fire, huh? I want you to experience
what Ashley felt. You’re going to feel her
pain!”
<
I wake up back in the fire.
1
Thick smoke filled my lungs and I coughed.
Pain jolted me back to the previous timeline.
First thing I did was grab my phone, but
instead of calling my husband, the fire
captain, I called 911.
Waited for the fire trucks, and then I saw
Ryan, his face grim and familiar.
He pulled Ashley out of the burning house.
That’s when I finally screamed for help.
The other guys thought I was faking it, gave
me a dirty look and told me to stop with the
く
Then a chunk of the ceiling fell, smashed
right into my stomach.
I coughed up blood, but they acted like
nothing happened.
I bit back the agony and crawled out of that
inferno with every ounce of strength I had.
But all the cooling equipment went to Ashley.
Ryan didn’t even look at me, just told me I
deserved it.
I was sweating and shaking, coughing up
blood, and I could feel my baby slipping away.
The last time, Ashley and I had both called
him at the same time when the fire started.
baby be chose to save me first.
く
But when he went back in, the fire was out of
control. He couldn’t get to Ashley.
She died in the flames, nothing left.
Ryan said it was okay, told me not to blame
myself.
He even took leave from work to stay with
- me.
Then, on the day I gave birth, he dragged me
and the baby to Ashley’s grave.
He slit our baby’s throat in front of me.
Blood splattered on his face, making his eyes
even more bloodshot.
“Sarah, you know what it’s like to burn alive?
く
Ashley went through hell, and you’re going to
pay ten times over!”
Later, I burned with my baby. He got his wish.
This time around, I just wanted to get the hell
away from him.
But he wouldn’t let me go, didn’t even want
to give me cooling equipment.
Glancing down, I saw the blood flowing, and I
rasped out my last plea.
“Save… the baby…”
One of the firefighters near me finally noticed
something was up and turned to look.
But all I saw was disdain and a smirk.
He nudged me with his boot.
“Come on, Sarah, cut the act. Everyone
knows you can’t stand Ashley. So you started
a fire while pregnant? Ryan’s already saving
her. Stop acting, nobody’s buying it.”
“Honestly, I gotta hand it to you, going this
far for a guy. Too bad Ryan only has eyes for
Ashley. Just hope she’s okay, or he might
divorce you!”
Ryan didn’t love me, I knew that, but I didn’t
realize his whole team thought this way about
- me.
My stomach cramped, and I couldn’t speak.
My skin blistered under the heat.
L
Everyone was busy fighting the fire, nobody
cared about me.
