It stabbed me in the gut, stealing my breath.
Everything turned red.
The stray dog wasn’t a threat to Bethany.
But Blake slit its throat, drained its blood, and
tossed it into the alligator pit without a
second thought.
The dog whimpered, then its flesh was torn
apart by the gators.
I was suspended over the alligator pit by
Blake’s bodyguards, begging for mercy.
Blake just glanced at me, sneering.
“That mutt with the dog should have thought
twice before scaring Bethany.”
“But I can’t kill you so quickly. I need you to
suffer, make you feel Bethany’s pain.”
I peed myself as the alligators snapped and
lunged. He just watched.
Then, when I passed out, he decided I hadn’t
been punished enough.
“Bethany could have died, and you expect to
live peacefully? This is just the beginning.”
The sheer terror of the alligator pit was
nothing compared to what came next.
A hundred–pound pit bull mix growling at me,
covered in honey.
Blake had broken my legs, and I couldn’t run. I
screamed and crawled toward the closing
door.
Blake closed the door with a smirk.
It was like a cage and there was no place to
hide.
The pit bull tackled me, pinned me down.
I desperately pushed the dog away, but the
jaws full of sharp teeth got the better of me.
It sniffed the honey and devoured me as I
cried out.
I could feel the rough tongue and teeth
tearing off my flesh.
I bashed my head against the glass of the
door, begging for help.
I was wrong, I was going to die.
He kicked open the door, shot the pit bull
with a tranquilizer, and subdued the beast.
I was relieved, until I realized my nightmare
was only beginning.
He tied me to the other side of the room, so
that the pit bull was close enough to kill me.
Then he walked away.
“Die? Someone as vicious as you won’t die.”
“It’s because of you that Bethany suffered a
heart attack, and you must pay a thousand
times.”
“If you try to harm Bethany, you’ll go to hell
with this mongrel!”
My screams fell on deaf ears.
He told the assistant, “Don’t give them
anything to eat.”
“I want her to feel what it was like for
Bethany to die of fright! Don’t even think
about hurting Bethany again!”
He trapped me in the pitch–black basement.
He didn’t care if the starving dog ate me.
When I opened my eyes again, I found Blake
calling the assistant.
He magnanimously ordered, “Let Delilah go
early. I’ll spare her life for Bethany’s sake.”
“She wouldn’t dare hurt Bethany again, she
should have learned her lesson.”
“Make sure she doesn’t come smelling like
shit and covered in wounds, Bethany would
be frightened.”
The assistant walked away, covered in sweat.
L
Blake turned to Bethany and said, “Thanks for
being so forgiving of Delilah. If it wasn’t for
you, I would have killed her a long time ago.”
“I should have killed her for you, but I didn’t,
and I hope that isn’t a mistake.”
Bethany shook her head, pretending to be
magnanimous.
“It’s okay, as long as Delilah knows she’s
wrong and doesn’t hurt me again.”
Ha!
I wanted to laugh!
I had walked alone with the stray dog,
avoiding everyone.
Then she showed up in front of me and
shoved me.
“Delilah, get out of here, someone as
worthless as you isn’t good enough for
Blake!”
I didn’t want to fight with her, and I had also
been taken advantage of by her.
After following me for a few steps, she began
to pant.
Then she dropped her emergency medication
in the grass.
I knew what she was doing.
“Delilah… please don’t do this to me, I’ll leave,
“I know you hate me, but you can’t scare me
on purpose, I have a heart condition, I could
die any second.”
I found her disgusting, but I couldn’t leave her
to die.
Mainly because I was afraid of Blake.
So I called for help.
After she was sent to the hospital, Blake
slapped me.
“How can you hurt someone with a heart
condition?”
“Bethany is my friend since we were kids, you
can’t hurt her! If you try to kill her again,
we’re divorcing!”
The world crumbled before my eyes.
I couldn’t convince Blake.
Blake had heard Bethany say those things,
and he punished me for it.
