Before boarding the flight, Shiloh administered the special medicine she’d acquired, effectively bringing down Nora’s fever..
Without a moment’s rest, she headed to her close friend Mac Thompson’s home, planning to stay until Nora fully recovered.
Mae, the heir of the Thompson family and a top–tier actress, had access to the best security and confidentiality systems in the country.
Most importantly, Adrian had no idea about Mae and Shiloh’s connection. There was no way he could track her down through Mac.
In the small garden, Shiloh had just finished flying kites with Nora. The little one, worn out from playing. had fallen asleep on her shoulder.
Lowering her voice, Mae asked teasingly, “Loh, do you remember that campus heartthrob you dated in college?”
Shiloh thought for a moment. “Why does everyone keep saying I dated someone in college? Are you talking about Killian Pitts?”
Mae smirked, pulling out her phone and pointing to a photo. “He goes by Killian Shaffer now. Word is, he’s sick and staying in this hospital.”
Curious, Shiloh visited his room under the guise of being an old classmate.
Time had flown by–seven years had transformed the pale, slender young man she remembered into a mature figure resting with his eyes closed.
Shiloh didn’t linger long, dropping off a small gift before preparing to leave.
But as she walked out of the room and turned a corner, she caught an unexpected sight through the window: Travis sitting quietly on the hospital terrace.
Dressed in a hospital gown, he looked dejected, clutching something in his hands while Cody Hawke sat
beside him.
Cody noticed Shiloh and exclaimed in surprise, “Mrs. Frost, what are you doing here?”
Travis, previously slumped with lifeless eyes, turned at the sound of Cody’s voice. The moment he saw Shiloh, tears streamed down his face.
He ran to her, throwing himself into her arms and clinging tightly to her dress.
“Mom… I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry…” he stammered through sobs. “I regret not stopping Marty. I thought I’d never see you again!
Hearing him call her “Mom” sent a pang through Shiloh’s chest, breaking through the wall she’d tried so hard to build.
No matter how cold she tried to appear, seeing her sick child erased all her resentment.
Kneeling down, she wrapped her arms tightly around him and whispered, “Don’t be afraid, Travis. I’m
here.”

From Cody, she learned that Travis had fallen ill after returning from Oklark Village. He frequently ran fevers and had persistent coughing fits.
Adrian had admitted him to this private hospital and arranged for 24–hour care.
But seeing Travis’s frail condition, Shiloh’s perfectly composed face darkened with anger. “A 24–hour caretaker? Where is Adrian? His child is hospitalized.”
Cody sighed. “Mr. Frost has been busy with work at the company. He hasn’t had time to come by…
At that moment. Shiloh’s phone buzzed with a news notification.
“The Qadena Group’s president personally escorts rising star Jessie to her new set, sparking dating
rumors.”
Shiloh’s mind raced. He doesn’t have time to visit his hospitalized child but has time to play chauffeur for his first
love?
Gripping her phone tightly, her face darkened, and anger flickered in her eyes. “This is what he’s busy with?”
Cody froze, seeing the article’s accompanying photo. It was unmistakably Adrian.
“Mrs. Frost, there must be some misunderstanding.”
“Don’t call me Mrs. Frost,” Shiloh snapped. ‘I have nothing to do with Adrian anymore.”
She turned her attention back to Travis, gently patting his back as she asked, “Travis, would you like to come with me?”
Meeting her gaze, Travis hesitated before nodding.
Without a second thought, Shiloh scooped him up into her arms and headed for the elevator.
Travis clung to her neck and murmured shyly, “Mommy, I’m heavy. I can walk.”
Shiloh smiled down at him. “You’re not heavy. I like carrying you.”
Cody rushed to block her path. “Mrs. Frost, you can’t take Travis away.”
Shiloh stopped, her entire demeanor radiating restrained fury.
“Tell Adrian that if he can’t take proper care of his son, I will. He can stay busy with his precious Jessie for as long as he likes.”
Carrying Travis and holding Nora’s hand, Shiloh returned to Mae’s estate.
To ensure they weren’t followed, she had Monkey send extra people to cover her tracks.
Once home, Shiloh gave Travis a thorough medical examination, finally breathing a sigh of relief when she confirmed he wasn’t in serious condition.
When Travis saw Nora again, he was nervous at first.
But the sweet little girl, too young to hold grudges, smiled brightly the moment she saw him.

“Travis,” she said happily, grabbing his hand.
Travis returned her smile and pulled a piece of candy from his pocket, offering it to her.
Shiloh knew taking Travis away would undoubtedly provoke Adrian.
