Soon, admissions officers from both Stanford
and MIT came to find me, telling me a lot of
things
<
I listeneu autentively.
As I was seeing them off, the Stanford officer
noticed the words “Physics Department”
written in the corner of my notebook.
While the MIT officer was pressing the
elevator button, he whispered:
“Don’t choose MIT, our Stanford Physics
Department is world–renowned!”
Such blatant-
Opportunistic slander!
Such childish rivalry!

In the end, I chose Stanford.
The school not only waived my tuition and
fees but also helped me apply for grants and
scholarships. Combined with my part–time
work, I quickly saved up a small sum.
And the Stanford Physics Department was
indeed, as the admissions officer said, world-
renowned.
