I smiled at the camera after finishing the last
page.
But I was surprised to see tears in Dr. Lewis’s
eyes.
“Dr. Lewis?”
I grabbed a tissue for him in a panic. “I’m
sorry, did I say something wrong?”
“No, you’re fine, it’s just…
“I feel sorry for you.”
I quickly shook my head. “Why? They’re the
ones who caused my illness. It’s not your
fault. You’ve been patiently guiding me. I
should be thanking you.”
“But I’ve never been able to cure you.”
“I can’t be cured.”

I gave him a soft hug.
His body stiffened for a moment.
He put down the camera and hugged me
back.
