Kicked Out of the Wealthy Family, Four Brot… 1/5
Chapter 37 Give In
Sarah was in a tight spot, thanks to Daniel. There was no turning back now.
Gritting her teeth, she said: [I’ll finish writing it.]
In her mind, she was already plotting. “I’m going to take everything that belongs to Jennifer.
By the time this song is produced, even if Jennifer discovers the truth, no one will believe her.”
After Daniel hung up, he stared at the song and still couldn’t shake the feeling that it wasn’t safe enough.
The last song Sarah had written for him had flopped miserably.
He needed to be more careful this time, especially with the tight deadline for his new album.
Daniel’s agent chimed in, “Mr. Daniel Hargreaves, why not ask Ms. Hargreaves for her new song? The last one she wrote was a huge hit. This one is bound to be a success too.”
Daniel scoffed. “Don’t even mention it. My sister’s still mad at me and using the song to hold me hostage. She won’t get the satisfaction of seeing me cave in.”
Daniel wasn’t about to give in.

The agent pulled out his phone. “We can always reach out to someone else. I saw that Jesse’s looking for collaborations lately. That song of his is pretty good.”
“Let me see.”
Daniel glanced at the song and was immediately impressed. “This is great. It fits the vibe I’m going for with this album. Contact Jesse’s agent. Money’s not an issue.”
In his mind, he thought, “I’m not using Jennifer’s song, no matter what. I don’t need her to make music.”
Jennifer was in the study room, engrossed in her book, when her phone rang. It was Jesse.
Stepping outside, she spoke quietly, “Mr. Martin, do you have news?”
“The song you wrote is getting a lot of attention. There are a few deals in the works. But Daniel’s agent also reached out to me. Doesn’t he know the song is yours?”
Jesse was confused, which was why he’d called Jennifer directly to confirm.
Jennifer was equally surprised.
After a moment’s thought, she said, “I’ll collaborate with anyone
Chapter 37 Give In except Daniel.”
She thought, “I chose to work with Jesse precisely because I didn’t want to give the song to Daniel.

The fact that Daniel’s now reaching out to Jesse tells me he’s not happy with Sarah’s work and is looking elsewhere.”
Jesse hesitated before asking, “Ms. Hargreaves, have you really fallen out with your family?”
“Yes, who I choose to work with is my decision. Don’t worry about Daniel. He’s got money; he can buy any song he wants.”
“Alright, I was just asking.”
Jennifer hung up, a smile appearing on her face.
She was genuinely curious whether Daniel would end up using Sarah’s song.
Later that evening, Jennifer received a message from Timothy: [Come outside.]
Glancing at the time, she realized how late it had gotten.
Hurriedly gathering her things, she messaged him back: [Sorry, I lost track of time while studying. I’ll be right out.]
Leaning on her cane, Jennifer made her way outside the school and spotted Timothy’s car parked by the curb.

Taking a deep breath, she approached the car. “Sorry for making
you wait.”
Considering Timothy’s personality, Jennifer doubted he enjoyed waiting for people.
Eric stepped forward, ever polite. “No worries. We only just got here. Ms. Hargreaves, let me take your cane.”
With Eric offering her a way out, Jennifer felt a wave of relief.
Once she was settled in the car, Jennifer turned her head to look at Timothy sitting next to her. “Wait, when we get to the banquet, is there anything specific you need me to do or be mindful of?”
Truth be told, this was her first time attending a Clark family dinner.
Although she and Timothy had been engaged for a while, they hadn’t interacted much.
Most of the time, Jennifer had been keeping company with Angelina, rarely seeing the rest of the Clark family. Everyone knew that her engagement to Timothy was nothing more than a business arrangement, a way to keep Angelina happy.
No one truly acknowledged her as Timothy’s wife.
In fact, Jennifer found it a bit strange, thinking, “Timothy is actually willing to bring me to the family dinner. This never happened in my previous life!

Could it be because I approached him first, and now things are. changing in unexpected ways?”
Timothy’s tone was cold and to the point. “All you need to do is play the part of Mrs. Clark and keep Grandma happy.”
Jennifer nodded, understanding what was expected of her.
It wasn’t much different from what she had to do in her previous life, after all.
As Jennifer organized her backpack, one of the documents slipped out and landed near Timothy’s feet.
Her heart was in her mouth.
“Oh no! He can’t see that!” she thought, panic rising.
