She did it.
She didn’t tell our parents she was going to
the party.
She wanted to surprise them.
She stood on stage and started giving a
speech.
Everyone was shocked.
She started crying.
“I’m the missing daughter. I was kidnapped
and I’m lucky I escaped from the mountains.”
She talked about what had happened to her.
My parents were scared.
They looked serious.
She wasn’t doing anything crazy, so they
relaxed.
But then someone recognized Ashley.
“That’s the younger daughter. I saw her at the
dance show. She was terrible.”
“Oh, yeah! I heard she’s back, but she’s a
mess.”
“She always tries to get her sister in trouble,
but she always gets caught on camera.”
“Her sister is so smart, and Ashley tries to
hurt her.”
People started looking at Ashley differently.
My parents looked embarrassed.
My dad grabbed Ashley.
He was angry.
“This is a party. You can’t do this here!”
Ashley was confused.
She almost fell.
My mom dragged Ashley backstage.
She started hitting her.
<
“You’re trash. I should have killed you when
you were little!”
“Do you know how important this party is to
the company!”
Ashley didn’t.
She looked at my mom.
“I used to be your favorite. Why are you
hitting me…”
My mom laughed.
She looked at Ashley like she was her enemy.
“That was before.”
“It’s been years. I don’t love you anymore.
You’re not important.”
My mom was disgusted.
Ashley’s face fell.
