First thing Mom does after waking up is ask
the nurses to call me.
I get to the hospital and see the door is

closed, and the Millers are standing in the
hallway.
I hear Aunt Carol talking about how Mom
doesn’t want to see them.
Mom hears my voice and opens the door, she
lets me in.
I get right to it, “What do you want?”
“Help me, I’ll give you and Joe all my money.”
“Okay,” I say, I don’t hesitate.
I’m not going to say no to money!
She lists all her assets in the Miller family.
I can’t believe it, she brought half of Miller
Corp. with her.
I knew Grandpa was rich, but I didn’t know
how rich, I should have sucked up to him.
No wonder the Millers never yelled at her, she
had leverage over them.
And that’s why Dad snuck his kids home.
He wanted his daughter to get Mom’s money.
I have money, but I need more connections.
I ask my friend to get me a good lawyer, I
want to protect her assets, and get evidence
on Bethany and Mike.
I heard that anyone who messed with Bethany
disappeared, that’s Mike’s doing.
Lawyer gets to work fast, the divorce is filed
within a month.
Mom gets her money back, and 30% of Miller Corp, including me and Joe’s shares.
Mom keeps her promise, she signs everything
over the next day.
She’s leaving everything for us because she
knows she wronged us.
We’re the only family she has left.
The day she signs divorce papers, she sees
me and Joe, she starts crying.
I feel bad, I thought she was sad about the
divorce.
As I’m thinking about what to say, she says,
“I’m sorry, can I see you guys sometimes?

Once a month? Or even a few months?”
She’s crying because of us, she only has us
left.
I can’t help feeling bad, she did raise me, I
think, “You can live with me.” After all, she
raised me for eighteen years.
I see her face light up, she can’t believe it, I’m
choosing her.
She made a mistake, but I can forgive her,
she was tricked too.
It’s always been the Millers hurting me!
