don’t believe in love.”
“Claire, I always thought you were creative
with your hands. After the divorce, why don’t
you come work as a bartender at my bar?”
I stared at Zack, and he seemed genuine.
<
Zack always wanted me to pick up a skill to
work for him.
He had me try calligraphy for his bookstore
and write on the covers.
He had me try sewing for his clothing store and design some of the clothes.
I turned him down because Ben didn’t like
when I was around other men.
But I had really wanted to try those things, because I love using my hands.
I had always asked Ben what he thought.
Now I had to do the things that made me happy.
So, I said yes.
Ben and Tiffany came to see me at the
hospital as I was being discharged.
“Claire, I brought Tiffany to apologize. We
were wrong, can we please call this whole
divorce off?”
Tiffany’s face blanched. She looked at me
with envy but was afraid to say anything in
front of Ben.
I didn’t say anything.
Ben started to panic.
“Baby, my dearest wife, you gotta trust me, I love you. It’s always been you, and it always
will be.”
I laughed. “How can you say that with a
straight face.”
I brought up my phone to show them my
chats with Tiffany, including countless videos
and photos.
