“She’s Jake’s ex–fiancée, my sister, Evelyn.”
As soon as she said that, everyone following
John Johnston changed their faces.
But Ashley didn’t notice anything was wrong.
She was smug. “Jake lost his memory and
only loves me now. She ran to our wedding to
cause trouble, saying she only loves Jake, but
wearing a fake wedding ring that looks like
the one you gave to Aunt. Isn’t she obviously
trying to seduce you?”
“Although she’s my sister, I’ve always known
that she’s promiscuous, evil, and jealous. She
bullied me a lot when we were at home. I put
up with it all, but I can’t stand her pretending
to be your beloved Aunt.”
“Don’t worry. We already cut off her finger

with the fake ring to vent your anger. I even
threw her finger out the window. You won’t
be able to find it. If you’re still not satisfied,
you can hit her or kill her. You don’t have to
give me, your niece, any face.”
“What are you? You think Mr. Johnston will
give you face?”
The assistant standing behind John Johnston
immediately stood in front of him and quickly
had people take Nora away.
John Johnston’s face was extremely ugly.
Ashley thought he was angry at me and
wanted to add fuel to the fire.
Finally realizing that something was wrong,
Jake quickly stopped her and shouted angrily,
“Shut up!”
The Aunt came first, but everyone on site was
someone he had personally invited.
The only exception was me.
And Nora’s face, which looked seven or eight

A ridiculous yet unbelievable guess gradually
formed in his mind.
Jake’s heart felt like it was being pulled by an
invisible force, getting heavier and heavier.

“Find someone immediately.”
John Johnston rubbed his forehead, his face
getting worse and worse.
Although Nora was young, she was very
smart. She heard what they said and, after
realizing it, cried in fear.
“Mommy, I want Mommy.”
John Johnston knelt down and hugged her.
“Uncle, I can’t find Aunt. Let me comfort the
child. I’m good at comforting children.”
As Ashley reached out her hand, Noral
shouted, her eyes red with tears. “Go away,
you bad woman! You scolded my mommy!
You cut off my mommy’s finger! I’m going to
have the police arrest you!”
This simple sentence stunned everyone and
caused them to look at Nora in disbelief.
Ashley had just scolded only one person.
And only one finger was cut off.
Almost at the same time, all the guests
stepped back several feet away from Ashley,
afraid of being associated with her.
Ashley widened her eyes in shock, her face
visibly paling.
The assistant pushed through the crowd. “Mr.
Johnston, Mrs. Johnston is here.”
I was left in the corner, unconscious, with
blood all over the floor because my hand
hadn’t been bandaged.
John Johnston knelt down, his fingertips.
hovering over my pale face for a few
seconds, afraid to touch me.
The assistant cautiously said, “Mr. Johnston,
we’ve already called 911 and sent people to

find the finger.”
He nodded and took off his suit jacket,
carefully draping it over me.
Looking up, his face was filled with coldness.
“Very well! They even dared to cut off my
wife’s finger!”
His face was calm, but it made the entire
banquet hall feel like it had dropped several
degrees.
Jake’s face was white, and his eyes were
filled with disbelief and unacceptable
collapse. “Uncle, you’re lying. There’s no way
Evelyn is Aunt. It has to be fake! What did she
promise you that you’re willing to act with
her?”
The assistant couldn’t stand it anymore.
“Young master, do you think anyone in this
world can make Mr. Johnston act? Don’t
deceive yourself.”
“Our lady is the woman who had her finger
cut off. Instead of worrying about the lady’s
identity, you should worry about yourself. You
hurt the lady so much. Think about how to
clean up the mess.”
Seeing that I was being treated like a treasure
by John Johnston, the jealousy in Ashley’s
heart overflowed like poison, and she blurted
out without thinking.
“Don’t be fooled by Evelyn, she’s a bitch.
She’s good at acting and pretending to be
pitiful. Don’t be fooled by her innocent
appearance. She’s evil and promiscuous to
the core. When she was at home, she often
brought different men home. She’s so dirty…”
Before she could finish, a slap landed hard on
her face.
“Shut up!” Jake’s eyes were bloodshot.
“Evelyn is not that kind of person. You’re just
jealous of her and have been slandering her.”
He seemed to suddenly wake up, and his eyes

swept across the crowd. He saw the person
who had been spreading rumors in the crowd
was trying to sneak away.
He picked up a wine bottle and smashed it
hard on the person’s head.
Faced with the crazy Jake, the person didn’t
even care about the blood all over his head
and knelt on the ground, begging for mercy.
“Mr. Johnston, it wasn’t me. Ms. Johnston
asked me to make it up. It was all to cause
panic and to hurt Miss Johnston. She gave
me one hundred thousand dollars. It really
wasn’t my fault.”
“What nonsense are you talking about? I don’t
even know you.”
The truth was revealed, and Ashley
desperately denied the relationship.
But her guilty and nervous eyes had already
betrayed her.
The person crawled to John Johnston and

“Mr. Johnston, I was wrong. I was really
wrong. Please spare me. I don’t want the
money. This has nothing to do with me. It was
all Ashley’s idea. Ashley made up the rumors.
Mr. Jake cut off your wife’s finger. Everyone
saw it. You have to know that the person
Ashley wanted to kill was Mrs. Johnston. Even
if you gave me a hundred guts, I wouldn’t
dare to touch her.”
