Chapter 65 No Longer Calm
Timothy’s car pulled over to the side of the road, and it didn’t take long before the paparazzi outside the auction house spotted
- it.
Eric quickly got out of the car, accompanied by the driver and bodyguards, to block the reporters.
Jennifer, holding the dress, couldn’t help but feel a mix of amusement and helplessness. If she got out of the car wearing this fake dress and was caught by the reporters, that would mean all the ridicule she had endured for supposedly wearing fake goods would have been in vain.
Timothy spoke in a calm tone. “I’ll wait for you outside the car.”
“No, you can’t go outside.”
Jennifer pressed her hand to his arm, speaking nervously. “If you get out and the reporters see you, they might say all sorts of things. Just turn around, and I’ll change quickly.”
She said it without realizing what she was suggesting.
The car fell silent.
Timothy’s gaze fell on Jennifer’s face, his expression a mix of amusement and something else. “Do you know how dangerous it is to undress in front of an adult man?”

She hadn’t thought about it that way.
Flustered, she stammered, “But… but this is necessary, right? I don’t want the reporters to take photos and write something. that might make Madam Clark worry. If Mary can tamper with clothes, she’ll probably bribe the reporters to write whatever she wants. We have to be careful.”
After she spoke, she realized Timothy was staring at her with a deep, dark look.
She slowly withdrew her hand, feeling the heat rising in her
cheeks.
Her voice softened, her throat dry. “So, what should we do?”
Timothy’s eyes rested on her innocent, wide–eyed expression, his Adam’s apple moving slightly. “Don’t worry. I won’t peek.”
“Then close your eyes and turn away.”
Once Timothy turned around, Jennifer quickly turned her back to him, blushing as she began to undress.
At that moment, she started to regret her decision.
This felt awkward, especially in such a small backseat where a slight misstep could make them both bump into each other.

The car was quiet. They could hear each other’s breathing.

After Jennifer removed her clothes, she blushed as she reached
into the bag to pull out the new dress.
The sound of fabric rustling filled the car.
Timothy turned his head, glancing out the window.
But even through the window, a faint reflection of Jennifer appeared.
He couldn’t help but notice her slender, smooth back and the soft curve of her side as she turned.
His gaze seemed to have been stung by something sharply, and he quickly looked down.
His breath grew heavier, and his body seemed to lose its control.
He had seen every type of woman.
He thought he had mastered self–restraint. Yet, at this moment, just from the blurred outline of her back, his body reacted..
This was utterly unbelievable to him.
Realizing what was happening, Timothy stopped looking at the reflection in the window and slowly closed his eyes.
Jennifer struggled to pull the dress on, her hands trembling.

The more anxious she became, the more she fumbled. Her hair got caught in the zipper.
Jennifer was frantic, pulling at it, but it wouldn’t budge.
She struggled for a while, but the zipper stayed stuck.
Timothy waited for a moment before speaking. “Are you done yet?”
“Almost… just my hair is stuck in the zipper.”
Timothy suddenly opened his eyes and saw her back exposed.
He quietly moved closer and grabbed her hand.
Feeling his approach, Jennifer froze.
His palm was warm, and the heat radiated through her hand.
“Don’t move. I’ll help you.”
He leaned in, their bodies pressed close together. Jennifer could feel his warmth, which only made her blush even more.
She quickly pulled her hand back as he adjusted the zipper on her dress.
Timothy lowered his gaze, and for a moment, he nearly saw too much. His eyes darkened, and he hastened his movements.

“All done.”
Jennifer, red–faced, smoothed down her dress. “Thank you…”

Although it only took a few seconds, it felt like a century to her.
Timothy’s expression was somber, his voice low. “Let’s go. Get
out of the car.”
Jennifer took a deep breath and stepped out of the car. The paparazzi were already snapping pictures.
She turned back to help Timothy with his wheelchair, and they walked forward together.
But the reporters were quick to pounce. “Ms. Hargreaves, you two were alone in the car for so long. What were you doing?”
“Ms. Hargreaves, your face is so red. Were you making out in at
car?”
Upon hearing the words, Jennifer’s face flushed even more. She thought to herself, “Do the reporters really have to be so sharp–tongued?
Is there any way I can clear my name now?”
