Chapter 113 Playing the Victim Won’t Work
The atmosphere in the classroom grew tense.
Jennifer raised her voice. “Sarah, did you hear me? You owe
your team an explanation. You can’t just cry and play the victim every time something goes wrong!”
There was no way Jennifer was going to let Sarah weasel her way out of this.
Jennifer was determined not to let her off the hook.
Sarah turned around with a forced bravado, glancing at her group members as tears began to stream down her face.
Sadie quickly stepped to Sarah’s side. “Sarah, don’t cry. It wasn’t your fault, and you did your best.”
Sarah said with a trembling voice, “It’s all my fault. I haven’t been in a good place lately, and I haven’t been focused on my work. I’ve let you all down.”
But none of her group members spoke up, though there was clear discontent in their hearts.
They’d assumed Sarah could handle it; who knew she truly couldn’t?

It seemed the rumors were true. Jennifer had been doing Sarah’s assignments all along.
Yet at this moment, they couldn’t voice their frustrations and could only grumble internally.
Otherwise, their previous treatment of Jennifer would make them look ridiculous.
Jennifer glanced at Sadie. “You’re generous, but if I recall, you’ve failed a course before. If you lose this credit, your semester’s at risk.”
Sadie’s face fell; how could she have forgotten that?

Jennifer smirked slightly. “But you should forgive Sarah. She tried her best and apologized. You can’t blame her for your zero.”
Sadie was speechless, too frustrated to argue back, thought internally, she was seething.
Who would have thought Sarah couldn’t handle Jennifer?
Vincent stepped in. “Alright, that’s it for today’s class! From now on, assignments will be graded as a group, with Jennifer and Sarah as leaders. Class dismissed!”
Jennifer hadn’t expected the professor to make such an arrangement.

As soon as he left, the atmosphere in the room shifted.
Someone muttered, “What do we do now? Are our grades doomed?”
“Yeah, can I request to change groups?
“Well, that would need Jennifer’s approval.”
The students exchanged glances, wondering if Jennifer would
agree.
Staying in Sarah’s group meant facing failure every time.

Jennifer spoke calmly, “Anyone’s welcome to join my group, but if you join and then leave, there won’t be a second chance.”
Knowing Sarah’s tendencies, there was no doubt she’d create more drama in future projects.
Sarah felt cornered; Jennifer had set her up this time.
She seethed inwardly.
Sadie stood by Sarah. “This time, she was just feeling unwell. It won’t happen again.”
Sarah wiped her tears and put on a confident face. “Yes, I won’t let anyone down again.”
As long as she had enough strong members in her group…
Chapter 113 Playing the Victim Won’t Work Future projects would be fine if everyone worked together.
But this time, not many responded to Sarah’s plea.
Sarah felt frustrated and glared at Jennifer, her eyes full of
annoyance.
Jennifer leaned against the podium, a cold smile on her lips, daring Sarah to do something about it.
Just then, Vivian entered the room.
Sarah quickly said, “Ms. Hoover, you’re here for Jennifer, right?”
“Yes, I need to speak with her urgently,” Vivian replied.

Sarah sighed dramatically, “Ms. Hoover, I know Jennifer ruined that fabric you worked so hard to get, but she probably didn’t mean it. Just careless, I suppose.”
Sarah had guessed why Vivian was there as soon as she saw her.
It was payback time for the embarrassment Sarah had suffered earlier in class.
Jennifer stepped forward. “Ms. Hoover, it’s true this was my fault. I’ll find a way to make it right.”
“Jennifer, do you realize how rare that fabric is? Ms. Hoover had to call in many favors to get just that small amount. Just admit your mistake,” Sarah said.
Chapter 113 Playing the Victim Won’t Work Sarah’s lone was full of schadenfreude.

Vivian was a bit upset, too. “Jennifer, you’ve been too careless. What do you plan to do to fix this?”
“I’ve already found some leads on the fabric, and I’ll go look for it soon. I’m sure I can find more,” Jennifer said.
Sarah interrupted, “But the timeline for the show is tight, Ms. Hoover. Are we supposed to delay everything because of her?”
She couldn’t let Jennifer off that easily.
Sadie added fuel to the fire. “Exactly, Ms. Hoover. Jennifer caused this huge problem. She shouldn’t stay in your studio or be part of this show. She doesn’t deserve it!”
