If he hadn’t appeared in time, who knows what might have happened to her.
Jennifer clung to Timothy as if he were
her lifeline.
He stiffened; he wasn’t used to women coming close to him like this.

Only now did the fear set in for Jennifer.
“You knew it was dangerous, and you still came alone?” Timothy said incredulously.
Timothy couldn’t believe she had actually ventured to such a remote place alone.
Jennifer finally released her grip and noticed the blood on her hands had
stained his white shirt.
She tried to wipe it off, only to smear it

Timothy’s mouth twitched. “Stop doing silly things.”
Jennifer awkwardly pulled back her hand, turning to look at the man’s body. “He wasn’t just a mugger; someone sent him.”

She clutched her arm. “Why did you press
on my wound?”
“Didn’t you say it didn’t hurt?”
“That’s different!”
Timothy wheeled around. “Get in the car. We’re going to the hospital.”
“Wait, I really found this fabric here,” Jennifer said excitedly.

Timothy’s expression turned complicated as he saw the bloody handprint on the fabric. “Is this more important than your life?”

Chapter 116 He’s Actually Protective Now that the adrenaline had worn off, the pain started to set in.
She placed the fabric carefully next to her, not wanting it stained with blood.
“Give me your arm!”
Timothy pressed gauze to her arm. “Don’t move. You think you have an endless supply of blood?”
‘Ouch, it hurts!”
Jennifer winced, sweat beading on her forehead, unable to speak from the pain.
“Now you feel the pain?”
Jennifer looked at him pitifully, her eyes wet with tears, her lips pale.

Timothy wheeled in, his eyes cold as he glared at the medical staff. “What’s happening to her?”
The doctor answered nervously, “Disinfecting stings a bit.”
Jennifer’s face turned pale, her body shaking from the pain.
A nurse suggested, “Maybe a family member could comfort her. It might help.”
Seeing her so alone tugged at Timothy’s
heart.
He moved beside her, his tone stiff. “Do you need help?”
“Yes!”

But in the end, he chose not to.
Eric opened the door and stepped in.
“Mrs. Clark, we’ve identified the man’s background.”
