They locked gazes, both caught off guard by the unexpected turn of events.
Timothy swallowed hard, instinctively turning his head away.
In a flurry, Jennifer scrambled off him, hopping on one foot to plop down onto the bed, her face buried in her hands as she rubbed her cheeks.
She could feel the heat radiating from her skin.
Jennifer mused, “What if Timothy thinks I did that on purpose?”
After a moment of hesitation, she glanced over at Timothy, who was still seated in his wheelchair. “Um… I didn’t mean to do that,” she stammered.
Timothy turned his head, his expression slightly awkward. “Hope there’s no repeal performance.”

“I promise, it won’t happen again,” Jennifer replied, relief washing over her as she noticed he wasn’t angry.

Timothy’s gaze fell on her, taking in the sight of her in a delicate. spaghetti strap dress that accentuated her slender back, making her look undeniably alluring in the soft light.
He recalled their earlier closeness, how soft and delicate her waist felt in his hands.
Heat surged through his palms.
Clearing his throat, Timothy said, “You don’t need to worry about what Grandma has planned.”
“I get it. I understand completely. We’re just in a contractual marriage—mutual benefits, no strings attached,” Jennifer said, her eyes wide and innocent, as if she were ready to swear an
oath.
Seeing her sincerity, Timothy couldn’t help but find it a little endearing.
He wheeled himself over to the door and locked it, ensuring no one would barge in again.
Jennifer’s mind flashed back to the maid’s sudden entrance, and she pieced together why Timothy hadn’t offered her any clothes earlier.
“Did you suspect Grandma would send the maid for a surprise check?”
Chapter 46 This Kiss Was an Accident “Yeah.”

Timothy nodded, fully aware of his grandmother’s tendencies.
Jennifer pulled the blanket around her shoulders, feeling a bit more at ease, though her dress felt far too revealing.
She surveyed the room, noticing the lack of furniture. “With a room this big, don’t you have a couch or something?”
“Actually, there was one, but it’s not here today,” Timothy replied calmly.
“So, how are we supposed to sleep tonight?” Jennifer asked, a hint of concern in her voice.
“Do you really think I can do anything to you in this condition?” he replied, a wry smile creeping onto his face.
Jennifer’s gaze lingered on him, a thought forming in her mind. “So maybe the rumors about Timothy’s… impotence are true.”
His bathrobe hung loosely, revealing a well–defined chest and hints of abs.
With genuine sincerity, Jennifer said, “Honestly, you’ve got a pretty good physique.”
Timothy chuckled. “You don’t need to throw out compliments just to make me feel better.”

“Mr. Clark, when you say that, have you looked in the mirror at your abs? I seriously suspect you’re just showing off,” she leased, inching closer to the edge of the bed.
She added, “But don’t worry, I’m a great sleeper.”

Timothy changed into his pajamas and glanced over at Jennifer curled up in the corner, who resembled a small, cozy animal.
Later that night, he was jolted awake by the sound of movement.
He glanced down to find Jennifer rolling over, her limbs sprawled out like an octopus.
The loose straps of her dress had slipped down, offering little in the way of modesty.
“Is this her idea of being a good sleeper?” Timothy thought, his brow furrowing as he nudged her limbs away.
But within moments, she snuggled closer again, wrapping her arms around his, smacking her lips before drifting back to sleep.
After several failed attempts to push her away, Timothy sighed, feeling the warmth of her soft body against his.
He tried to ignore the discomfort, forcing himself to settle back into slumber.
The next morning, Jennifer woke with a start, only to realize she was nestled against a man’s chest.

Her hand rested on a set of abs, and she felt like a total rogue.
“What on earth did I do last night?”
Panic washed over Jennifer as she quietly withdrew her hand, though she couldn’t deny that his abs felt pretty impressive.
She mused, “But this is Timothy’s abs! Touching them is like poking a sleeping tiger!”
Jennifer felt like a thief caught in the act, and the more she panicked, the clumsier she became.
Carefully, she tried to lift his shirt to free her hand but accidentally brushed against something unexpected–something firm and distinctly… prominent.
With her curiosity piqued, Jennifer turned her head to see what it was, but as soon as she realized, her face flushed a deep
crimson.
“What are you looking at?” Timothy’s low, raspy voice broke the silence, sending a jolt of embarrassment through her.
In a flurry, she dropped his shirt as if it were a hot potato.
Jennifer thought, “Oh no, oh no! How am I ever going to explain
this?
I must look like I had some very inappropriate thoughts about him!”

Her checks burned as she stammered, “I… I didn’t expect this! It’s all a misunderstanding, do you believe me?”
Timothy, still groggy from sleep, regarded her with an unsettling calmness.
He noticed the situation down below and felt a flicker of
awkwardness, but seeing Jennifer’s flustered expression made him smirk.
“So, are you satisfied with what you’ve seen?”
