Chapter 47 Sleeping in the Same Bed
Jennifer was momentarily stunned, her mind racing.

She thought, “Am I satisfied with what I saw? What did I even see? Isn’t that just his…”
She couldn’t believe that Timothy, of all people, was making a risqué joke!
Her eyes darted around nervously. “Believe it or not, I didn’t mean to. And come on, you’re a man. It’s not like seeing something is going to hurt you.”
Timothy, amused by her feigned composure, decided to tease her further.
“Isn’t a man’s innocence worth protecting too?”
His gaze drifted downward, noticing the strap of her slip dress slipping off her shoulder, revealing a glimpse of her skin.
A wave of heat washed over Timothy, an unfamiliar sensation since his accident.
He hadn’t let anyone get close, hadn’t let anyone see his broken body–especially not a woman.

But, despite everything, Timothy was still a man, after all.

Jennifer noticed him looking and quickly realized she was exposed. She fumbled to adjust her dress, pulling it up to cover
herself.
Her face flushed crimson as she stammered, “Well, now… now we’re even since you’ve seen me.”
Timothy turned away, awkwardly shifting his position in bed.
Jennifer, still suspicious, asked, “I have a question. Why were you holding me while we slept?”
Timothy was rendered speechless for a moment. “Is she really blaming me for this?” he thought.
In a deadpan tone, he replied, “It wasn’t that I wanted to hold you. Certain someone kept crawling closer, no matter how many times I tried to push her
sleeper. I beg to differ, She even claimed to be a good
sleeping habits?”

Jennifer was momentarily at a loss for words.
Defensively, she said, “I’ve always had good sleeping habits.”
Timothy raised an eyebrow. “Says who?”
“Well, no one’s really seen, since I usually sleep alone.”
As Jennifer looked at Timothy’s serious expression, she began to

doubt herself. If it had been any other man, she wouldn’t have believed it.
But with Timothy, she wasn’t so sure,
Jennifer mused, “He doesn’t seem like the type to let women get close. So, did I really throw myself at him last night?”
Feeling a bit guilty, she said, “I have a confession. I might have mistaken you for a cuddly toy. I tend to hug them when I sleep.
“I’m sorry. It’s my first time sharing a bed with someone. I didn’t really know what to do.”
She thought to herself, “Maybe next time I’ll just put a pillow next to me. That should help.”
After Timothy composed himself, he got out of bed.
Jennifer instinctively asked, “Do you need any help?”
He glanced at her injured foot. “What do you think you can help with?”
Timothy effortlessly maneuvered into his wheelchair, clearly accustomed to his routine.
Jennifer noticed the room was equipped with various handrails; all positioned low enough for Timothy to use comfortably.
She thought, “It’s such a shame. A man this handsome, and he’s stuck in a wheelchair.”

Jennifer headed to the bathroom to freshen up.

Her foot was almost healed, but when Jennifer went to put on her clothes from the day before, she found them dirty and
unwearable.
As she came out of the bathroom, she saw Timothy had already changed.
Dressed in casual clothes, he looked younger and less intimidating without the formality of a suit.
Jennifer hesitated, unsure how to broach the subject on her mind.
Timothy, noticing her uncertainty, asked, “What is it? You look like you want to say something.”
Jennifer shrugged, trying to play it cool. “It’s not a big deal, really. My clothes got dirty and I can’t wear them anymore.”
“There’s clothes in the closet,” Timothy replied, his tone matter–of–fact.
Jennifer looked slightly surprised. “Your clothes?”
“Grandma prepared everything,” Timothy said.
When Jennifer entered the closet, her eyes widened in amazement. One entire section was filled with women’s clothing -not just that, but shoes, bags, jewelry, the works. Everything

She recognized the jewelry immediately. It was all real, and not just any pieces, but the latest trends.
Jennifer couldn’t help but feel a little overwhelmed by the sheer generosity of Angelina.
“Grandma would be thrilled if you wore these,” Timothy added.
Jennifer quickly put the necklace back. “No, thank you. I’m not really used to wearing this kind of thing. But I can see she really cares about you.”
Timothy shook his head. “All of this is for you.”
Jennifer gave a soft sigh. “I know. But the reason she’s so good to me is because of you. She just wants you to have someone by your side, to live a normal life. I envy you, you know?”
Jennifer had spent her whole life chasing after familial love.
She had given everything to her brothers, hoping for that deep, unconditional bond.
But in the end, she was abandoned.
Timothy, on the other hand, even in his condition, still had a family that loved him.
Timothy, sensing her thoughts, glanced her way. “You envy me, a disabled man in a wheelchair? Well, you better get changed

With that, Timothy wheeled out of the closet.
Jennifer selected a white woolen skirt and glanced at the jewelry again. After a moment’s hesitation, she chose a necklace and put it on.
She didn’t want to disappoint Angelina.
When they made their way downstairs, they found quite a few people already seated on the couches. It looked like everyone had arrived.
Sandy, visibly angry, shot Jennifer a furious look. “Jennifer, you broke my ribs!”
