When Timothy returned to King Villa, his face darkened at the sight of the empty living room.

“So Jennifer had been buying things for another man?”
“Sir, is there something you need?” Ryan asked as he walked out.
“Nothing,” Timothy replied curtly.
He walked to the bedroom with a stern expression but froze when he saw shopping bags on the floor.
Upon closer inspection, he recognized the brand as the one Jennifer had been shopping at today.
His heart started racing, his emotions on a rollercoaster ride.
Sharon approached him. “Mr. Clark, Mrs. Clark had these delivered. I checked them they’re all in your size. She bought them specifically for you.”
Chapter 145 Too Late to Apologize “I see,” he replied.
Timothy glanced at the bags, his mood inexplicably lifting.
Looks like Jennifer knew how to sweet talk her way around.
Even though she was spending his money!
Shortly after, Jennifer returned to King Villa.

After buying so many things, Jennifer wondered what Timothy’s reaction would be.
Maybe he didn’t even need any of this stuff.
Jennifer felt awkward about buying so much.
It was all Sarah’s fault, that little miss perfect. Initially, she’d only planned to buy a single tie as a gift.
Walking into the lobby, Jennifer cautiously asked Ryan, “Is Timothy back?”
“Yes, sir is in the gym,” Ryan replied.
Chapter 145 Too Late to Apologize Jennifer couldn’t help but probe further, “How’s his mood today?”
Ryan thought for a moment before answering honestly, “Sir doesn’t seem to be in a good mood.”

Hearing this, Jennifer realized she might have messed up.
She went straight to the gym, where she found him doing his rehabilitation exercises.
Jennifer hesitated at the doorway, about to leave, when Timothy called out, “Get me some water.”
“Oh, sure.”
Jennifer brought over a bottle of water, sneaking a glance at his expression. He didn’t actually look upset at all.
In fact, the way he tilted his head back to drink was kind of sexy.
Timothy noticed Jennifer stealing glances at him. He tightened the bottle cap and said, “I saw what you

Jennifer fidgeted nervously. “I usually only buy those things for my brothers. Never bought them for other men before, so I’m not very experienced. If you don’t like what I picked, I can return them.”
“No nee..” Timothy cut her off abruptly, then added awkwardly, “But you bought me a gift using my own money?”
Jennifer looked uncomfortable. “I didn’t have enough money. I ran into Sarah at the mall today. They were making fun of me because the Hargreaves family froze my credit cards, so I used your card instead. I’ll pay you back.”
“Don’t bother. I’m not so petty about such a small amount,” Timothy said, putting down his water bottle and returning to his workout.
Seeing he wasn’t angry, Jennifer let out a sigh of relief. “Thanks for helping with the Jason situation.”
“I just chose to believe what you told me. Consider it an early investment. If you don’t follow through, I’ll be collecting interest.”

Jennifer could tell Timothy wasn’t just talking about monetary interest.
But she knew she would come through.
After all, she had done it in her previous life.
Timothy glanced at her. “I heard you’re suing Daniel. Need the Clark family’s lawyers?”
Jennifer jumped at the chance. “Yes!”
The lawyer she’d initially contacted had connections with the Hargreaves family, and Daniel found out about everything almost immediately.
She’d been planning to switch lawyers anyway.
The Clark family’s top–notch legal team would be perfect.
Timothy gave a short nod and went back to ignoring her.
Jennifer left the gym feeling much better about everything.

The next day, Jennifer went to class as usual.

But Daniel showed up at school, drawing screams from his fan club.
Sarah stood beside him, playing the part of his manager.
Jennifer packed up her things and walked away. She wanted nothing to do with anyone from the Hargreaves family.
“Jennifer, wait up! I need to talk to you!”
Jennifer pretended not to hear and kept walking.
Daniel chased after her anyway. “Hey, I’m talking to you! Are you seriously giving me the cold shoulder?”
“Who says I’m ignoring people?”
In her mind, the Hargreaves family didn’t even count as people worth acknowledging.
Daniel frowned. “I don’t have time for games. Did you really send the Clark family lawyers after me?”
Chapter 145 Too Late to Apologize “I’m suing the plagiarist,” she said flatly.

“I already offered to change the song credits to your name. What more do you want? Are you just trying to make a scene?”
“You trust Sarah so much? Then stick to your story in court!”
Jennifer didn’t want to waste any more breath on this
nonsense.
At that moment, Sarah approached them, her voice choked with tears. “Jennifer, please let me apologize. I wasn’t thinking straight. I thought since we’re all family, and the songs were for Daniel anyway, it would be okay to use yours. It’s all my fault. Please don’t sue Daniel!”
“If apologies fixed everything, we wouldn’t need cops,‘ Jennifer shot back.
