Chapter 53 The Lie Is Exposed
After Daniel spoke, Osborn didn’t suspect anything unusual.

He walked straight up to Sarah and, after a quick glance, said, “Wasn’t your foot fine?”
Sarah paused for a moment, then extended her hand and said, “Dr. Hadley, my foot isn’t injured, and it’s my hand that was hurt.”
Daniel added, “That’s right. Sarah’s hand was broken before and suffered serious injury. Now, when she tries to do detailed model work, she can’t do it accurately. She wants to see if there’s anything you can do to help.”
Osborn asked, “But wasn’t it said that my patient has a foot injury?”
He seemed confused.
Osborn then turned and noticed Jennifer’s walking posture. calling out to her directly, “Is it you who injured your foot?”
Jennifer was standing by the door. She turned to look at Osborn and nodded. “Yes, my foot is injured. I came in for a follow–up today.”
“Oh, then it’s you. Come sit down, let me take a look.”

Jennifer felt a bit uneasy, thinking, “Wasn’t this doctor specially
invited by Daniel to see Sarah?
Why does this feel a bit off?”
Sarah looked at Daniel in surprise. “Daniel, what’s going on here?”
Deep down, Sarah felt uneasy. She wondered if Asher had given some kind of instruction to Osborn to treat Jennifer as well, especially since she felt Asher had changed a lot lately.
Daniel immediately said, “Dr. Hadley, you’ve got it wrong. I invited you to see Sarah, not Jennifer. If you have time later, you can check on her, but it’s not urgent. She doesn’t really need it.”
Osborn adjusted his glasses and said seriously, “But I came here at someone’s request to treat a patient with a foot injury.”
Clearly, the only person in the room with a foot injury was Jennifer.
Daniel explained, “Ah, it’s likely that the person who passed the message to you made a mistake. I invited you here to see Sarah. Her hand is injured.”
Osborn cleared his throat, thinking, “What’s going on here?
Does the Hargreaves family have problems with hearing?”
Osborn looked at Daniel and said, “Then perhaps it was a mistake. I was asked by Mr. Clark to treat his fiancée.”

As soon as those words were spoken, Daniel was stunned.

Daniel suddenly felt embarrassed. “What? That’s impossible!”
Asher had clearly said he would make arrangements with the hospital.
That was why Daniel had assumed that this doctor was invited by Asher to treat Sarah.
But now, it turned out that wasn’t the case.
It turned out Osborn was here to treat Jennifer because of the Clark family.
Had it not been for Jennifer, they probably wouldn’t have seen Osborn today.
The atmosphere in the office became extremely awkward.
Jennifer glanced at Daniel and Sarah, then spoke lightly, “Well, I guess you should wait outside now.”
Sarah stood up, her face turning crimson with embarrassment.
She hadn’t expected Timothy, the sickly one from the Clark family, to treat Jennifer so well.
Sarah tugged at Daniel’s sleeve. “Daniel, since this doctor was invited for Jennifer, maybe we should wait outside. We wouldn’t want to be a laughingstock.”

Daniel, his temper flaring, snapped, “Why should we leave? If anyone should wait outside, it should be Jennifer!”
Osborn glanced at Daniel and said, “Sir, there’s a proper order when it comes to seeing patients.”
Daniel, unwilling to back down, retorted loudly to Jennifer, “Sarah’s hand got injured because of you! She couldn’t even do model work properly. Don’t you remember?”
Jennifer’s expression remained calm. “I haven’t forgotten, but I didn’t injure her hand.”
“Who’s going to believe that? Now that we’ve got such a renowned doctor, Sarah should be seen first.”
Jennifer found it rather amusing. She nodded and said, “Fine. Let’s see Sarah first, then.”
Osborn glanced at Jennifer, asking cautiously, “Ms. Hargreaves, what do you think?”
“It’s fine. Let her go first. After all, her hand has been injured for so many years and still hasn’t healed. She even trembles when writing. If it can be cured, that would be a good thing.”
Jennifer had always thought Sarah’s hand injury was fake.
There was no way her injury could have lasted so many years.
Sarah, feeling guilty, avoided Jennifer’s gaze. As long as she

didn’t admit it, no one could prove otherwise.

Only then did Osborn turn to examine Sarah’s wrist. But soon, he furrowed his brows. “This is a bit strange.”
Daniel grew nervous. “What’s wrong? Is her wrist injury worse?”
“No, that’s not it. You said her wrist was seriously fractured, but I looked at it, and there’s no sign of any fracture at all.”
