Chapter 164 Who Are You?
Jennifer noticed the silent communication between Sarah and Kelly.
Did they really think she was blind to their antics?
Vivian made a swift decision. “Alright, it’s settled. Jennifer, I need you to oversee the follow–up. I’m swamped as it is.”
“Understood, Ms. Hoover,” Jennifer responded.
She accepted the responsibility. If Vivian trusted her this much, she wouldn’t let her down.
After laying down her instructions with authority, Vivian made her exit.
However, the air in the office shifted, laced with a subtle tension.
Kelly had been the queen bee of the studio until now, but she faced the prospect of being sidelined.
And in all likelihood, the one poised to usurp her throne was none other than Jennifer.
Kelly let out a derisive snort, “Some people just know how to kiss up. There are plenty here with more experience and talent, but Ms. Hoover picks certain people.”

Even if she was being dethroned by Vivian, she wouldn’t let Jennifer off the hook easily.
Sarah put on an act of restraining Kelly. “Let it go. We didn’t exactly shine this time, so it’s only fair that Ms. Hoover gels upset. Jennifer’s got talent, and it’s clear Ms. Hoover favors her.”

“What do you mean ‘let it go? I’m just putting some folks on notice. Don’t dream about taking what’s not yours! It could be anyone’s turn, but it damn well won’t be hers!”
Kelly was slinging her veiled insults, but it was an open secret who she was aiming at.
Unfazed by the barb, Jennifer faced Kelly. “Then you should take Ms. Hoover’s advice and revamp your design. I’ll need to check off on every step before you go any further.”
“Jennifer, you’re way too full of yourself. Why on earth should I have to run every step by you?”
Kelly had always viewed Jennifer with disdain, much less was she about to bend to Jennifer’s directives.
Jennifer marched straight up to Kelly. “Either you follow my lead, or you can walk out that door!”
Stepping out of her usual demeanor, Jennifer had turned uncharacteristically assertive.
Taken aback for a second, Kelly snapped back with fury,

“Jennifer, do you even know who you’re talking to? What gives you the right to tell me to get out?”
“Didn’t you hear Ms. Hoover? If your work isn’t up to par, why should you stay?”
Jennifer’s retort turned Kelly’s face into a vivid canvas of swirling emotions.
Kelly finally kicked a chair in frustration and stormed out.
Sarah hurried after her, leaving behind a chaotic scene in their wake.
With the drama queens gone, Jennifer turned to the remaining team. “Now, it’s on you. If you need help, I’m here. But if you’re still taking orders from Kelly, then you’re on your own.”
She sensed that everyone in the studio was sharp enough to grasp what needed to be done from here on out.
After laying down her words, she turned on her heel and walked back to her seat.
Her colleagues nodded, whispering, “Well done! It’s about time someone stood up to Kelly.”
“Yeah, Kelly’s design skills are zilch at this point. Aside from having a bit more experience and knowing how to sweet–talk Ms. Hoover, she’s not fit for that chair.”
“Thank goodness Ms. Hoover’s finally had enough of Kelly’s

antics.”
Jennifer smiled, “Then let’s join forces and give this studio a
fresh start.”

Before long, members of Kelly’s team drifted over to collaborate with Jennifer on the design, and the vibe was decidedly more. harmonious than before.
Jennifer stayed swamped until the late hours, finally clocking out to share a meal with the studio crew.
Returning to King Villa, she found Timothy already in bed.
She hardly had a moment to talk to him, and it felt like things had slipped back into their old rhythm.
When Jennifer made her way to the dining room for breakfast, Sharon approached with a tube of ointment in hand, saying, “Mrs. Clark, this is for scar removal. Use it, and the marks on your arms will fade quite a bit.”
Jennifer accepted it and glanced over the label. It was scar removal cream from Clark Group.
“Mr. Clark had this prepared for you,” Sharon explained.
“Timothy arranged this?”
“Yes, even though he isn’t one for many words, he does care about you.”

Jennifer felt her emotions swirling into a complex mix. She hadn’t exchanged many words with Timothy over the past few days, and yet, here he was, remembering something as personal as this.
She brought the ointment to the studio, where everyone had shown up early, buzzing with activity.
However, Kelly and Sarah sauntered in much later, and upon her arrival, Kelly started dishing out orders to the team: to brew coffee, fetch takeout, and run errands.
Jennifer gazed at Kelly. “Please handle your own tasks. Everyone’s got work to do.”
Kelly slammed her hand on the table in a fury. “Jennifer, do you think you are the boss?”
Jennifer ignored Kelly, simply clapping her hands to gather attention. “Alright everyone, let’s get set and head to the meeting room for our session.”
The rest of the crew trailed after Jennifer into the meeting room, even the one who had just poured coffee for Kelly.
Kelly and Sarah lingered outside, choosing not to enter the meeting room.
Kelly’s face contorted with rage. “That little wench, she’s really strutting her stuff today.”
Sarah seized the moment to fan the flames. “Jennifer was always

like this back home. I get where you’re coming from, but wer shouldn’t clash directly. We need to figure out her game plan first, then we can really stick it to her.”
“Right,” Kelly replied.
She entered the meeting with a notebook in hand.
Jennifer remained silent. As the meeting concluded, she gathered her belongings, ready to leave.
elly couldn’t help but fire off one last jibe. “Off so soon?”

“Yes,” Jennifer replied with composure, “I’m heading to the Best Singer Award Ceremony.”
