Chapter 168 A Clear Divide
Jason approached Jennifer and poured her a glass of champagne.
Le said, “Don’t take the Hargreaves family’s words to heart.”

“I know,” Jennifer replied, taking the champagne. “Thank you for speaking for me just now.”
She hadn’t foreseen that Jason could be so sharp–tongued when engaging in disputes with others.
“I was just stating the truth. If I don’t spell things out, Sarah, with her innocent act, will surely throw dirt on your name. Nowadays, it seems the more vulnerable you appear, the more righteous you’re deemed to be!”
Jennifer sipped her champagne, her gaze drifting away from Asher and Daniel.
However, the statement Daniel had released earlier was sufficient to confirm the events that transpired.
Her mind wandered back to Timothy. This was his counsel, and indeed, it had paved the way for her vengeance!
The ceremony commenced soon.
Jennifer had initially planned to blend into the background, an

observer rather than a participant.
However, the Hargreaves family had chosen seats nearby.

It was indeed true that foes would be bound to meet on a narrow path.
She had absolutely no desire to sit beside any member of the Hargreaves family.
Asher gazed at her. “Jennifer, what gift would you like to
celebrate your success?”
“Your distance would be gift enough,” Jennifer retorted sharply.
Asher fell silent at her rebuff.
Daniel felt irritated. “Jennifer, remember you’re only sitting here thanks to the Hargreaves family! Normally, someone like you would be stuck in the last row! It’s Asher who made this spot for you.”
From the sidelines, Sarah chimed in, “Exactly. Jennifer,
could you please stop pointing fingers at your brothers? They genuinely care about you!”
Care?
Unable to remain seated, Jennifer stood up and declared, “You don’t need to make arrangements for me. I think the last row will suit me just fine.”

Daniel snorted.
Asher furrowed his brow.” Let’s not make a scene. Jennifer, don’t go. Just stay here. We’ll stay quiet.”
“No way!”

Jennifer was indifferent to where she sat; as long as it wasn’t next to the Hargreaves family, she’d be content sitting on the floor!
Cven
As she rose to her feet, a staff member approached her with deference. “Ms. Hargreaves, your seat isn’t here. Please, come with me.”
Sarah’s eyes sparkled with a hint of glee. “Jennifer, you really should just stay put. The view from the back row isn’t all that great, you know?”
But secretly, she was laughing inside. Jennifer deserved to be relegated to the last row!
The staff member shot a glance at Sarah and clarified, “Ms. Hargreaves‘ seat isn’t in the last row!”
Sarah froze.
Daniel let out a cold snort, “If she’s not in the last row, then what, is she in the first row?”
The staff member nodded affirmatively. “Yes, Ms. Hargreaves‘ seat is indeed in the first row.”

Daniel and Sarah instantly turned sullen.

Sarah’s voice carried a note of reluctance, “Asher, are you really going to arrange for Jennifer to sit in the first row?”
Asher shook his head. “No.”
How on earth could he have the clout to secure a first–row seat for Jennifer?
Daniel couldn’t resist commenting, “It must be because of
ason!”
He thought to himself, “Jason sure knew how to win people over!”
With a hint of mockery, the staff member explained, “Actually, no. The first row is reserved for Mr. Clark, but he rarely attends these events. However, since Ms. Hargreaves has graced us with her presence, she must sit in the first row.”
It was thanks to Timothy that Jennifer had the privilege of sitting in the first row.
Just moments ago, Jennifer assumed it was Jason’s doing, but to her surprise, it was actually because of Timothy!
Jennifer then cast a glance at the Hargreaves family members. “I’ll head to the first row then. The view must be excellent from there, though some might never get the chance to see it.”

Upon hearing this, Sarah felt her anger flaring, her eyes turning a furious shade of red.
She glanced up at Asher. “Asher, I didn’t mean it like that just
now.”
“If you didn’t mean it, then why the tears? Jennifer surely didn’t mean it that way either!”
Asher noticed that Sarah was overly prone to tears.
ennifer, now betrothed to Timothy, rightfully took her place in the front row. It was only fitting for someone of her stature, the soon–to–be matriarch of the Clark family.
When Asher’s accusations hung in the air, Sarah instinctively drifted her gaze to Daniel.
However, Daniel’s face contorted into an even deeper scowl, silencing Sarah completely.
The affection that Sarah once received from Asher and Daniel had noticeably chilled. Asher, in particular, had begun to harbor. doubts about Sarah.
With no other option, Sarah sank into her chair. Her eyes lifted only to catch sight of Jennifer, poised confidently in the front row. A wave of jealousy surged within Sarah, impossible to quell.
Sarah mused silently, “I wish it was me engaged to Timothy.

All that glory should all be mine!”

At the front, Jennifer watched with pride as Jason accepted his accolade for Best Singer of the Year.
She watched with bated breath and clapped as Jason made his way onto the stage.
in her past life, this award was in the hands of Daniel.
This time around, she had reclaimed all that was rightfully hers, nd with a sense of poetic justice, she ensured Daniel faced the consequences of his past actions.
She mused to herself with a cool detachment, “Since Daniel seemed to believe Sarah was the pinnacle of virtue, then fine, let him have her. I couldn’t care less.”
Jason stood center stage, with the trophy gleaming in his hands. “I’m genuinely shocked to be standing here with this award. Thank you, everyone, for your unwavering support. But there’s one person I owe the greatest thanks to. That’s Ms. Hargreaves!”
Suddenly, the spotlight swiveled, bathing Jennifer in its luminous glow.
She looked completely caught off guard.
