“That you were acting under her orders, and everything leads back to her.”

Tears streamed down Sadie’s face as she shot back. “Yeah, I stuck around because you were a rich girl, but I never wanted your money. Once you’re charged, we’ll see how superior you act in front of everyone!”
In a blind rage, Sarah lunged at Sadie.
“You ungrateful bitch! After all, I’ve done for you, letting you mooch off me, and now you stab me in the back? Even a dog would show more loyalty!”
“Who betrayed who first? You sold me out! If you’d just said one word in my defense, it wouldn’t have come to this. You fake heiress! What right does a housekeeper’s daughter have to act so high and mighty?”
Sarah’s face twisted with fury at the mention of her mother’s occupation. She wanted nothing more than to kill Sadie right then and there.

She’d noticed the calculated nature of Timothy’s earlier behavior.
After all, this man wasn’t known for his patience, especially when it came to listening to the drama between these women.
Timothy glanced at her. “I was just playing along with your performance.”
He’d recognized that Jennifer had deliberately provoked this confrontation between the two former friends with her pointed comments to Sadie.
Since Jennifer had set this plan in motion, he was more than happy to help it along.
Jennifer couldn’t help but laugh. Watching Sadie and Sarah at each other’s throats was absolutely delightful.
