Chapter 56 Not Buying Into Her Act
Jennifer glanced at Timothy in surprise, not expecting him to speak up for her.
She had to admit, he looked quite handsome doing it.
Sarah, now scolded in front of everyone, was struggling to maintain her composure. With a pitiful expression, she said, “Mr. Clark, I know I’m not someone of any importance, nowhere near Jennifer’s level. I never intended to compete with her for anything, truly.”
Sarah’s voice was perfectly pitched, showing a delicate yet strong side of her.
She was sure that any man would soften upon hearing such words.
“If that’s the case, then leave the Hargreaves Villa. Stay out of her sight.” Timothy’s words were sharp and unforgiving.
Sarah stared in shock at the man before her. She thought, “Why didn’t
my words work?
It shouldn’t be like this. I’ve used this same approach with the Hargreaves family before, and it’s never failed.”
Just a moment ago, she was certain it would succeed.

She believed that if she could get Timothy on her side, Jennifer would no longer be a threat.
But now, everything had fallen apart.
Frustrated, Sarah quickly added, “Mr. Clark, I think you’ve misunderstood. I really never intended to fight with Jennifer over anything. If leaving the Hargreaves family will help her stop sulking and return, then I can leave right away. As long as the family can reconcile, I’ll do whatever it takes.”
Jennifer saw Sarah pulling the “pure and innocent” card again, and her heart sank.
She thought, “What if Timothy is deceived by Sarah’s sweet act?”
Timothy glanced at Eric. “Good. Get Ms. Campbell’s plane ticket to leave the country, now.”
Since she wanted to leave, she could leave for good.
Eric nodded in agreement, “Understood. Ms. Campbell, where would you like to go? The farthest place is the Southern Hemisphere. I’ll book a ticket for tomorrow. You’ll have time to pack tonight.”
Sarah was stunned.
She had no idea what to say.
“Is this man really not understanding what I’m saying?” she

Although she had said she was willing to leave the Hargreaves family, it was just a strategy to make Timothy see her as kind and considerate, not something she truly wanted.
She simply wanted Timothy to recognize how selfless and thoughtful she was.
But Timothy actually wanted to buy her a ticket to send her to the distant Southern Hemisphere.
How ridiculous!
Jennifer couldn’t hold back her laughter upon seeing Sarah’s stunned expression.
She had thought that Timothy might be taken in by Sarah’s manipulative act.
Her heart had been in her throat just moments ago, but now it seemed unnecessary.
She thought, “He’s really going to buy Sarah a plane ticket? Is he pretending not to understand, or does he genuinely not get it?”
Sarah, realizing Timothy wasn’t as easily manipulated as she thought, turned to Daniel, her eyes full of feigned sorrow. “Daniel, I’m leaving.”
Her implication was that she wanted Daniel to keep her.

Daniel immediately responded, “No, Sarah, you can’t leave. When I brought you back, you became part of the Hargreaves family. No matter what happens, you’re not allowed to leave.”
A flash of smugness passed through Sarah’s eyes. She thought, “I knew Daniel wouldn’t let me go.”
She feigned a deep sigh, “But Daniel, if my leaving means Jennifer will return and the family can reconcile, I really can leave. It’s not a big deal.
“Growing up in the Hargreaves Villa has been the best thing in my life. I’ll never forget these years l here.”
Hearing Sarah’s words, Daniel felt a sense of warmth in his heart.
He felt that compared to Jennifer’s stubbornness, Sarah’s understanding and kindness were like night and day.
“Sarah, you’re too kind and understanding. Even if Jennifer leaves, you’re not going anywhere.”
Jennifer chuckled lightly. “Good thing I never planned to come back. Bye–bye.”
Sarah’s face fell upon seeing Jennifer’s indifferent reaction. She realized her plan hadn’t worked.
Biting her lip, she turned to Timothy, pretending to be fragile. “Mr. Clark, I know you must have misunderstood me, but I truly hope Jennifer can come back to the Hargreaves Villa, and that

everything can be set right again.”

Timothy’s voice was cold. “You’ve said enough. Are you leaving
or not? Stop wasting time.”
