Timothy glanced at Jennifer, but she kept her eyes fixed straight ahead, refusing to look at him.
His voice turned cold. “You’re asking where else she wants to go? The moment she shows her face, reporters will be all over her. Isn’t this mess big enough already?”
Eric turned to Jennifer. “Mrs. Clark, what do you think?”
“Well, you can tell him that I’m going to my studio, not out fooling around with random men!” Jennifer snapped.
His earlier words had revealed his suspicions about her.
She felt like a fool for thinking he’d come to defend her, that he actually trusted her. But no! He was just here to minimize the fallout from this incident!
It wasn’t about her at all! It was about protecting the Clark family name!
Timothy looked at Eric. “Take her to the studio.”
“I can go by myself. Don’t bother escorting me,” Jennifer said, turning her head away.

He lowered his gaze to her. “Oh, so now you’re willing to look at people when you talk?”
“You started it. I’m just following your example,” Jennifer replied, lowering her eyelids.
Timothy massaged his temples in frustration. Her attitude was definitely getting worse these days.
The car headed toward the studio.
The entire ride was silent, with the atmosphere between Jennifer and Timothy having reached sub–zero temperatures.
The car pulled up outside the studio.
Jennifer stormed out, slamming the door behind her. Timothy narrowed his eyes as he watched her leave.
He said, “Have I been too nice to her? I shouldn’t have gone. Let’s see how she handles it herself!”
Eric cleared his throat. “Sir, Mrs. Clark is a victim too. You saw how biased the Hargreaves family was. If you hadn’t been there, who knows how badly they might have treated Mrs. Clark.”
“She doesn’t exactly look like someone who’d let herself get pushed around.”

Timothy let out a scoff.
He glanced at the studio. So she still had the mood to work now,
not worried at all about clearing up the scandal?
Or was it because she cared that much about Jason?

Kelly spoke up from the side with an obvious snark in her voice. “Some people just can’t keep it professional and then claim they’re being set up.”
Jennifer turned to face Kelly. “Want to say that again? Sarah’s already facing a lawsuit for defamation. You’re welcome to try your luck, too.”
Kelly shut up immediately but couldn’t resist muttering under her breath. “I didn’t name any names. Why are you so quick to assume I’m talking about you?”

“What’s the point of following Sarah around like a puppy

Kelly’s face changed colors like a paint palette, and that shut her right up.
