Once Jennifer lost the title of Timothy’s fiancée, she wouldn’t be able to be so proud ever again, which pleased Kelly.

If there were really a backup, Jennifer wouldn’t have asked Kelly to return her recorder. Maybe Jennifer was lying.
Then, Jennifer glanced at Kelly. “You think working with Sarah will benefit you? You should have listened to the recording.”
Kelly seemed a little weird. “What are you even talking about?”
Of course, she had heard the contents of the recorder; that was why she knew how important this recording was to Sarah and decided to manipulate her with that.
“The Clark family will sue her for slandering, but the other girl will be the only one held responsible. Sarah will get away,” Jennifer continued.
