When Jennifer heard Daniel’s words, she could not help but laugh to herself.
She thought, “Was this not exactly how Sarah used to act?
I could live in the basement without any problem, but she could not stay here. If someone did not know better, they would think me was the daughter of a servant.”
With a half–smile, Jennifer looked at Sarah. “My request is simple. Just stay here for a few days. You will die from it. You keep saying you would sacrifice anything for the Hargreaves family, but you are not even willing to stay in the basement?”
Sarah’s face turned red with anger. She glanced at Asher, only to find that he said nothing. Her heart sank.
Sarah said hurriedly. “Asher, it is not that I do not want to make sacrifices, but Jennifer is clearly making things difficult for me.”
“Yes, I am making things difficult. What else did you expect from me?”
Jennifer admitted it directly and then looked at Asher. “These are my conditions. If you agree, I will cooperate.”

Jennifer’s eyes were filled with coldness. She would not let Sarah have it easy.
She thought, “Cleaning the basement and making it comfortable? Yeah, that was not happening!”
