Chapter 233 Both Refuse to Be Honest

Jennifer heard Sarah’s smug remark and struggled to keep her
composure.
Lowering her gaze, Jennifer said calmly, “There’s a lot to keep in mind with his daily routines–meals, clothing, everything. I’ll organize it for you later.”
Smiling, Sarah said, “Thanks, Jennifer. I’ll do my best to learn how to take care of Mr. Clark.”
Jennifer continued, “And special attention needs to be given to his leg…”
Timothy interrupted her, “You don’t need to be this concerned about me.”
Jennifer’s expression soured, but she chose not to respond further.
Sarah chimed in deliberately, “Mr. Clark, Jennifer’s just looking out for you.”
“Did I ask you to speak?” Timothy shot Sarah a cold glance, not hiding his disdain.
Sarah’s face fell as she pouted, “Asher, I was only trying to help.”

Timothy’s temper was strange–he never used to act this way. toward Jennifer.
Asher seemed to notice something as well.
He shifted the topic, saying, “Let’s cat first. We can discuss this later.”
Sarah wasn’t happy, but since Jennifer had already said it, this matter seemed settled.
The group headed straight to the dining room.
This time, Timothy didn’t leave halfway but joined them at the table.
Sarah eagerly sat next to Timothy and said, “Mr. Clark, what do you like? Let me help you.”
“I’d like you to sit far away from me,” Timothy replied coldly.
His icy tone left Sarah embarrassed, and she lowered her head, saying nothing.
Asher glanced at Jennifer. “Go sit next to Mr. Clark and clear up the misunderstanding.”
Jennifer ended up sitting next to Timothy, their shoulders almost touching.
Yet neither said a word.

Daniel, seated next to Asher, whispered, “You noticed it too, didn’t you?”

Asher nodded. He wasn’t blind; it was impossible not to notice.
The atmosphere between Timothy and Jennifer was unmistakably different–not the contractual relationship the rumors suggested, but something more.
Asher silently thought that if Jennifer and Timothy truly had feelings for each other, it would be ideal.
Asher looked at Jennifer. “Serve Mr. Clark some food. You should know what he likes.”
Jennifer hesitated, glanced at the dishes, and served Timothy some food.
Timothy glanced at it and said flatly, “I don’t eat this. Pick something else.”
Jennifer served something else, but he still wasn’t satisfied.
She realized he was deliberately making things difficult for her.
Sarah quickly offered, “Mr. Clark, let me help you.”
But as Sarah stood, she accidentally spilled soup, staining Timothy’s pants.
Jennifer instinctively stood, grabbed a towel to clean Timothy

up, and glared at Sarah. “Are you blind? His leg can’t handle burns–it could get infected!”
“I–I didn’t mean to,” Sarah stammered, looking frightened.
Sarah was panicking. She truly hadn’t done it on purpose.
Asher’s face darkened. “I’ll call the family doctor.”
Jennifer glanced at Eric. “Take him to my room and get his pants off to cool the burn immediately.”

Eric glanced at Timothy, about to suggest going straight to the hospital.
But Timothy interrupted, “Do as she says.”
Timothy was taken to Jennifer’s room, and the family doctor arrived soon after.
Sarah stood outside, frustrated, and looked at Asher. “Shouldn’t I be the one taking care of Mr. Clark?”
Daniel smirked. “I think it’s better if you don’t make things worse.”
Sarah was unwilling, but with Asher staying silent, there was nothing she could do but wait outside.
Jennifer stood nearby assisting until the doctor finished examining, Timothy and said, “Fortunately, the soup wasn’t too hot, Just cool it down, and it’ll be fine.”

Jennifer let out a breath of relief. “Good, nothing serious.”
Timothy lay on the bed, wrapped in her blanket. He could even catch the faint scent of her shampoo.
He looked at Jennifer with a deep gaze. “Why are you so worried? It’s not like I’ll die, and my leg doesn’t feel anything.”
“Even if you don’t feel it, it can still get hurt,” Jennifer replied firmly.
After speaking, Jennifer turned her head and said, “Have Eric grab clean pants from the car for you.”
Timothy said flatly, “There aren’t any in the car.”
Eric glanced at Timothy but didn’t argue. If Timothy said there weren’t any, then there weren’t.
At that moment, the doctor left the room. Outside, Asher asked about Timothy’s condition and only relaxed after hearing it
wasn’t serious.
Nothing serious–that was all that mattered.
Sarah whispered nearby, “Then let me take care of Mr. Clark tonight.”
Jennifer immediately rejected, “Do you even know how to take care of him?”

“I can learn.” Sarah insisted.
“You’ll have plenty of chances in the future. One night won’t make a difference,” Jennifer replied curtly.

Jennifer didn’t want Timothy getting hurt here, especially not in front of her.
