When I got home, I edited out the part where
Tiffany talked about Ethan.
<
I uploaded the recording to our school’s
message board, which immediately caused an
uproar.
Everyone was calling out Liam and Tiffany for
what they did. They were infamous at our
high school and at their colleges.
Liam and Mrs. Baker tried to get money, but
it wasn’t enough.
Liam kneeled before me and begged, “Hailey,
we were in love, please let me go!”
I kicked him away, “Let you go? If you made
me throw away my life, who would let me
go?!”
“You have one more day. If you don’t pay me,
I will send your mom to jail!”
<
Liam and Mrs. Baker left to try to get more
money.
Seeing Liam now, I didn’t understand what I
liked about him in the first place.
Soon, it was time for college.
Like he said, I met Ethan right when I got to Harvard.
He was wearing a white shirt. He looked like a
god. He had his luggage with him. When he saw me, he smiled. “Hailey!”
He helped me carry my luggage. The wind
blew through my hair. It was peaceful.
Then I heard Ethan’s soft voice, “Hailey, can I court you?”

I looked at his face and heard myself saying,
“Okay.”
Looking at him, and looking at Harvard, I
knew that the bad days were over and good
days were ahead.
I, Hailey, had finally found myself, and I had
found the man who truly loved me.
