Chapter 11
Henry didn’t respond, finishing his meal and setting his utensils down. Looking at the woman in front of him, he sighed. lightly and said, “It’s terrible.
Lydia pouted. “Terrible? You drank two portions of soup, ate all these dishes I made, and now you’re saying it’s terrible?”
The only reply she got was the sound of the door closing and a very cold statement. “Wasting is shameful.”
After dinner, Lydia received a call from the department store’s delivery personnel. The staff member was downstairs and waiting for her to swipe the card and call the elevator.
She quickly received the delivery person, who immediately apologized, explaining that their truck had broken down, so they were running late.
Lydia smiled warmly. It’s fine. You didn’t mean to.”
The delivery team brought up the new bed and set it up, also swapping out the old one.
As Lydia escorted them downstairs, she politely said. “Thanks, guys.”
After they left, she turned to head back to the elevator but was suddenly grabbed by a large hand and shoved against the wall next to the elevator.
Lydia looked tense, her knee bent as she tried to push upward. Unfortunately, the man facing her was too familiar with her infoves and quickly pinned her knee down.
Then came the strong, pungent smell of alcohol. Damon was drunk. Looking at her delicate face. Damon couldn’t resist lowering his head to kiss her red lips.
Lydia, thinking of their past relationship, immediately pushed him away before he could kiss her, and slapped him across. the face.
Damon, caught off guard, staggered back a couple of steps due to his drunkenness, leaning against the wall. His bloodshot eyes flickered with confusion, his face still reeking of alcohol.
Then Damon let out a quiet laugh, a self–deprecating smirk on his lips. “Lydia, you hit me? What makes you think you have the right?”
Lydia straightened her clothes, curling her lips into a cold, bitter smile. “You want to kiss me? Dream on. You deserve to be slapped. Stay away from me. I think you’re disgusting”
The curve of Damon’s lips deepened as he let out a bitter, self–mocking laugh. “Disgusting? Lydia, you really have no shame. You almost fooled me with your fake image. I’m disgusting? Who’s the real one here?”
Lydia found him completely nonsensical Facing this man who Had hurt her, she didn’t want to stay there for another second. She turned and tried to get into the elevator.
But Damon reached out and grabbed her clothes, his eyes flashing with pain as he hoarsely said, “Why? Lydia, why are you doing this to me?”
Lydia frowned deeply. “Why? Damon, you’re being ridiculous. You’re the one who cheated, the one who was sleeping in my house with Scarlet, How dare you show up in front of me? How are you?”
Damon seemed to not hear her angry words, still lost in his own misery, He murmured hoarsely, ‘Scarlett’s pregnant. She’s

pregnant…
Lydia’s heart seemed to tighten as though something had slammed into it, sending a dull ache through her. Her back began to tremble, but she refused to let herself show weakness.
Coldly, she said, “So you came here to tell me this good news? You expect me to congratulate you?”
Damon looked at Lydia’s stubborn face and, in pain, closed his eyes. When he opened them again, his expression was filled with resentment and confusion.
He repeated. “Lydia…”
Lydia yelled back. “Don’t call my name. You don’t deserve it
Suddenly, Damon pulled Lydia into his arms, holding her tightly as he murmured, “Lydia, don’t go…” Damon longed to do nothing but hold her like this, just like they used to.
Lydia felt a sharp pang of sadness. His embrace was like a key opening the door to memories.
Once, Lydia thought this embrace was something that would always belong to her, but it turned out that it would soon be given to someone else. Lydia struggled to break free, but she couldn’t.
Damon had been unfaithful to her. No matter how hurt he was now. Lydia would never allow herself to depend on him again.
At that moment, Damon’s phone rang. The urgent ringtone cut through the tension between them.
Damon finally released her, and when he saw the caller ID on the screen, his expression darkened. He glanced at Lydia for a moment before answering the call. “Hello…”
Scarlett gently pouted, her voice soft with a hint of playfulness. Damon, what are you doing? I can’t sleep. I feel sick… I keep wanting to throw up…”
Taking advantage of the moment, Lydia quickly stepped into the elevator and pressed the button, closing the door behind
her.
On the other end of the line, Scarlett heard the sound of the elevator’s closing doors, followed by a commercial that played, in all the Eastwood Gardens elevators.
Suddenly, Scarlett sat up in bed, wincing as her stomach pain worsened from the abrupt movement, her face turning pale from the sharp shift.
She asked, “Damon, it’s so late. Where are you?” Damon watched the elevator doors close and slumped against the wall, raising his hand to rub his tired eyes.
I’m at the office. I just got out of the elevator, Damon replied.
Scarlett played innocent. “Okay, take your time coming back. Call me when you get home…
After hanging up, Scarlett clenched the white bedsheet tightly in her hands.
Damon is lying. He’s at Eastwood Gardens. That ad is only played in their elevators. Ugh, Lydia must have seduced Damon, Scarlett thought bitterly.
When Lydia arrived home, her mood was clearly off. For someone who was usually loud, silence itself was an obvious sign of something wrong

O
Lydia sat curled up on the couch, watching TV, her eyes fixed on the screen, but with no focus on them.
Henry, who had been working in the study, came out to get a glass of water. He glanced at her, narrowing his eyes slightly. raising his wrist to check the time. “Half an hour.”
Lydia understood what he meant. Henry was pointing out that it had taken her too long to see the delivery people downstairs.
She quickly made up an excuse. “I ran into a neighbor downstairs and chatted for a bit.” She didn’t want to bring up Damon.
Henry looked at her briefly before heading back to his study.
Around 10 p.m., Henry came out again to get a second glass of water. Lydia was still on the couch, watching TV.
When she saw him come out, she smiled, her lips curving up. “Henry, this drama is so good. Want to watch it with me?”
Henry glanced at the ad playing on TV, then looked back at Lydia, who was staring intently at the screen. His gaze darkened.
Seeing that he didn’t respond, Lydia laughed, I know you’re the kind of cold guy who probably thinks idol dramas are silly. So, you go back to your work, and I’ll keep watching TV”
Henry didn’t say anything, turning back to his study.
As Lydia watched the study door close again, her smile slowly faded. Her eyelids drooped, and her fingers twisted together. She big her lower lip and sighed deeply.
At that moment, Lydia was both fragile and stubborn. She wouldn’t let herself show weakness in front of others. She pretended not to care.
But hearing about Scarlett’s pregnancy had clogged up her heart. After all, during her time with Damon, she had been so serious about their relationship.
She didn’t know how much time had passed before sleep finally took her.
