Lydia stood there for a moment, stunned. It was rare for someone to express their dislike so directly.
But this only confirmed Grace’s straightforward personality, suggesting she wasn’t the scheming type.
Lydia’s opinion of Grace improved, and her smile remained bright.

As Lydia watched Grace leave, she couldn’t help but feel good about the interaction, still thinking about what had just happened.

Sitting by the pool, the water shimmered under the moonlight, ripples glistening on the surface. A cool breeze tousled her soft, silky hair.
It should have been a pleasant night, but she felt a wave of heat rolling through the air.
The oppressive warmth rose from her chest, and her thirst grew more intense by the second.
Lydia bent down and splashed her face with some water, calming herself for a brief moment before the air turned warm again.
At that point, Lydia was sure something was wrong with the milk Her delicate brows furrowed tightly, her fingers clenched into fists. She tried to clear her thoughts, but it was useless.
The scene in front of her had turned into a blurry mirage. Her last ounce of rationality told her, ‘I can’t go back to the banquet hall. If I show up there now, I’ll be the laughingstock of the whole city
But she was already so weak that she could barely stand. Maybe sitting in the water will ease this feeling of exhaustion, Lydia thought.
Once the banquet ended, Lily would naturally send a driver to cake Lydia home. Lydia just needed to stay by the pool for a little while.
The next second, her awareness slipping away, Lydia fell straight into the water.
The banquet hall was bustling with activity, and there weren’t many people in the back garden.
However, the sudden splash drew a few curious glances.
Adam had yet to leave and was standing off to the side, lost in thought. To be more specific, he was stunned by the figure by the pool.
“She’s swimming in this situation? Clearly, it’s pointless, Adam thought, baffled. Adam quickly walked over to her.
Samuel was still leaning against a column in the hallway, watching the scene unfold with a mysterious smile,

The movement across the pool made Samuel raise an eyebrow
When he saw Adam, drenched and carrying the equally soaked Lydia out of the pool, panic flashed deep in his rebellious
eyes.
Samuel knew that when the moment came, he had to be ready to defend Henry’s love, such as grabbing Lydia away from a stranger’s arms.
But it seemed someone was quicker than him.
A cold gust swept through him as a familiar figure passed by, and then Lydia was in a man’s arms.
When Adam reached the pool’s edge, he immediately realized Lydia wasn’t in her right state, and he was about to take her to the hospital.
