Chapter 1
Chapter 4
Dominic called me later that night.
“Reyna, I’m a little tied up, so could you ask the Gamma to send me the treaty from the neighboring pack-” I gritted my teeth, refusing to hear another word.
It’s past midnight, and I had a fever yesterday. If you can’t care for your unborn pup, at least don’t try to work me to death.”
“W–what?” Dominic, who was watching late–night shows with Victoria curled in his arms, was startled by my tone.
“Reyna baby, it’s really important for the pack.”
“Then instead of making your pregnant Luna do all the work, do it yourself. Or are you trying to kill my pup again like last time?”
“Reyna!” Before Dominic could say another word, I hung up, too exhausted to let him manipulate me again.
Unknown to me, Dominic was stunned when he realized I blamed him for my previous miscarriage.
His face contorted with guilt and regret when he found I wasn’t answering his calls. The next morning, I received a bouquet of moon lilies as his ‘apology,‘ which I promptly threw in the trash.
I went to the Lycan Council that morning and readily signed the mate rejection papers. even sending a copy to Victoria at my former manor. I was leaving my home of five years when the doorbell rang.
I opened the door to find Victoria standing there, sporting an expensive silver bracelet on her wrist. When she noticed me looking at it, her smile widened.
“Oh, you recognize this? It’s the mate–bond bracelet you bought for Dominic. Sadly, he

didn’t want to wear it with you, so he gave it to me instead.“‘
It was a gift my late father had given to Dominic and me on our third mating anniversary. Later, Dominic claimed he’d accidentally broken my piece, and I remember crying for two days over losing my father’s keepsake.
My eyes welled up as I gritted my teeth in anger.
What do you want?”
Victoria, shameless as ever, invited herself in and pouted while looking around the house.
“The décor is as dull as you are, Reyna. Maybe that’s why Dominic needed a change. When I become Luna, I’ll throw out all this garbage and redecorate.” I smiled calmly, my heart steady, not a flicker of emotion breaking through.
“Hmm… that’s all you can do, replacing others and stealing their belongings. I should have known the first time I saw you. Living in my manor, flirting with my mate, and now shamelessly flaunting my bracelet… what’s next? Are you even really pregnant?”
Victoria went pale before glaring at me angrily.
“So what if it was all yours?! Now it belongs to me! And my pup will be the next Alpha, unlike yours who’ll be abandoned by their father!”
“Really? You think a selfish and arrogant Alpha like Dominic would discard his heir for a woman like you? And by the way, you can have that unreliable, scheming wolf for yourself.”
“I was chosen as Luna by Dominic’s father because he found his son too incompetent, All these years, I managed the pack’s affairs. With both your and Dominic’s personalities, the pack will crumble. You truly deserve each other.”
“While you were sleeping with Dominic, who do you think helped the families affected by rogue attacks? Who deployed the warrior wolves and monitored neighboring packs to prevent attacks? When I’m gone, you’ll have to handle it all alone, just like I did.”
Dominic had promised Victoria she wouldn’t lose anything, but upon learning all the
responsibilities she’d have to shoulder alone, she gritted her teeth in frustration.
“I’d rather free myself from parasites like you than ruin my life.”
My hands rested protectively on my belly as I caressed my pup through it before standing
to leave.
“What are you plotting? Don’t think I’ll fall for your innocent act for even a moment.” Victoria Victoria grew restless when things didn’t go her way.
She lunged forward and grabbed my hair.
“You dare plot against me, you bitch! Tell me the truth what did you say to Dominic yesterday that made him leave me alone at night?!” I tried to resist, only to be pushed roughly.
My eyes widened as I fell with a thud, and red tainted my vision. Blood poured from between my legs as memories of my past miscarriage flashed before my eyes.
I looked at the heinous woman who wore a horrified expression as she fled while I clutched my stomach and wept in agony.
“Someone, save my pup please! Help! Help me!” I roared in pain, tears streaming down my face as I dialed Dominic’s number.
I was terrified and forgot my hatred when he picked up on the first ring. For my pup’s sake, I would even beg him to come.
“Dom-”
“Last night you threw tantrums and skipped the pack meeting, so stop bothering me while I’m handling it myself!” He didn’t let me speak a word before hanging up.
“Luna! Oh, Moon Goddess!” I was nearly unconscious when I heard a pack member rushing to help me.
“Get the healer and call the Alpha! Quickly!” I didn’t hear anything after that as pain pulled me into darkness.
“Luna, you must stay awake!”
Before I could respond, unconsciousness claimed me.
