Chapter 304 Back Her Up
Millie strongly disagreed, but with so many eyes on them, she couldn’t openly object.
She lowered her voice. “Tim, she quit the studio today. What’s the point of letting her go up there?”
Timothy glanced back at Millie without saying a word.
He simply took Jennifer’s hand and walked with her toward the stage.
After a few steps, Jennifer hesitated and looked at Timothy. “Are you sure this is okay?”
Timothy noticed the fading handprint on Jennifer’s face, still- visible.
His eyes darkened. “I’m sorry I was late.”
If he had arrived earlier, Jennifer wouldn’t have faced his mother’s harassment or gotten slapped.
Feeling guilty, he was even more determined to make it up to Jennifer.
They went up on stage together.
Timothy took the microphone from Jennifer’s hands. “I’ve

always known my fiancée is a talented person, and I’ve witnessed all her hard work. It’s her determination and resilience that drew me to her, and I hope she’ll continue to thrive in this field.”
Timothy’s message couldn’t have been more explicit.
Eric, standing below, was the first to applaud, and the other shrewd attendees quickly followed suit.
After all, they had to show respect to the Clark family.
Millie’s expression darkened; she had come today to stop Jennifer and put her in her place.
Who would have thought her son would undermine her at this crucial moment?
What was this supposed to mean?
Mary seized the opportunity. “Looks like Timothy really likes. Jennifer.”
Millie let out a snort. What did it matter if he liked her? Once his leg healed, Jennifer wouldn’t be worthy of him anyway.
“Damn it, I didn’t expect Jennifer to be so cunning. She must have tipped Timothy off just now!” she angrily thought.
Standing on stage, Jennifer felt a whirlwind of emotions.
She spoke. “To be honest, I thought I’d lost my chance to stand

here today. But my fiancé’s constant support made this possible.”
Jennifer turned to look at Timothy. “Meeting him was the luckiest thing that happened to me. He’s truly an amazing person.”
Timothy paused for a moment, then smiled.
After Jennifer finished speaking, the applause continued.

When Timothy came down, people gathered around them. “Mr. Clark really treats his fiancée well.”
“Of course, even Madam Clark came to show her support today.”
These people chatted away as if they’d forgotten entirely about Millie slapping Jennifer earlier.
Being intelligent people, they all knew better than to bring up unpleasant matters.
Now that Timothy had come personally to back Jennifer support was crystal clear.

Jennifer smiled, though she noticed Millie’s sour expression. With so many eyes on them, Millie held her tongue.
Jennifer knew this wasn’t over yet.
After some small talk, Timothy turned to Jennifer. “You can get back to work now. I’ll wait for you so we can head home

together.”
Jennifer responded with a simple “Okay.”
She was more than happy to escape the situation and let Timothy deal with his mother.
Back in the dressing room, she found Vivian. “Congratulations.”
“Thanks, and congrats to you too. See? I told you your fiancé was good to you, but you wouldn’t believe it. Look at him showing up to support you.”
“That’s right, Jennifer. With him backing you up, what’s there to worry about? No parent can resist their child forever.”
Jennifer just smiled at their comments without offering any explanation.
She knew the truth about the Clark family better than anyone.
Timothy’s presence today was simply fulfilling their arrangement, nothing more.
It just proved he was a man who honored his contracts.
But it wasn’t over yet. Millie wouldn’t let things end like this.
Jennifer tried not to dwell on it as she helped clean up, trusting Timothy to handle whatever was happening outside.
After all, he had promised her he would take care of it.

Once she finished helping, Jennifer stood on the sidewalk looking around, pulling out her phone and debating whether to text Timothy.
Just then, a car pulled up in front of her.
Timothy rolled down the window and said, “Get in.”
After climbing in, Jennifer asked nervously, “What about your mother?”
Had Millie really given up that easily?
