Chapter 305 Does It Still Hurt?
Jennifer scanned the car after getting in but saw no sign of Millie.
She finally let out a breath of relief.
She was too mentally and physically drained to deal with Millie right now.
“My mom went home,” Timothy said.
“Just like that? She didn’t say anything else?”
Jennifer couldn’t believe it would be that simple.
Timothy reached out and gently touched her face. “Does it still hurt?”
Jennifer froze, caught off guard by his concern for her face. Her breath hitched.
She pressed her lips together before answering, “It’s fine. It doesn’t hurt anymore.”
“I’m sorry. I never thought my mother would confront you in public like that.”
Timothy was shocked that his mother had slapped Jennifer in front of everyone. It was clearly meant to humiliate her.

He’d just learned from Sandy that Jennifer had been forced to leave the studio to prevent it from losing an award.
Timothy’s mood had been dark since finding out about all this.
Jennifer was suffering these indignities because of him.
His apology lifted Jennifer’s spirits somewhat. “I didn’t expect it either, but I bet Sarah set this up deliberately to cause trouble for me.”
“It won’t happen again.”
Jennifer remained skeptical. Despite what was said, Millie was still Timothy’s mother, making life difficult for her son’s wife would be child’s play.
Timothy read Jennifer’s expression and quickly added, “You can keep going to the studio. Don’t worry about anything.”
“I’m not planning to go back to the studio.“.
“Trust me, I can handle this situation.”
Jennifer shook her head. “It’s not that I don’t trust you. I just don’t have much time. I only started at the studio for my course practicum credits anyway.”
Timothy insisted earnestly. “There won’t be any trouble at the studio.”

“That’s reassuring. But aren’t you forgetting something? I said after the show, I’d find a way to help your legs recover.”
Jennifer looked at him pointedly. “Which means I won’t really. have time for the studio.”
She could always continue with fashion design later, there wast no rush.
Timothy pressed his lips together, clearly dissatisfied with her
answer.
Remembering how he’d stood up for her today, Jennifer smiled, “For me, the most important thing right now is getting your legs better.”
Timothy’s expression softened slightly. “When you want to open your studio in the future, I’ll support you.”
“Thanks in advance, then.”
Jennifer left it at that.
Timothy handed her an ice pack. “Put this on it.”
Jennifer accepted it without protest, pressing it against her cheek while pulling out her phone to chat with her studio. colleagues in their group chat.
Timothy relaxed when he saw her smiling at her phone.
He’d been worried that the slap would upset her.

Timothy spoke up. “I’ll have someone arrange orders for your studio.”
Jennifer looked up. “You don’t need to do that. Ms. Hoover is talented. If she needed business investment, she wouldn’t still be running just a small studio.”
“I understand. It’s the treatment a competition winner deserves.”
But he would help more than usual, for Jennifer’s sake.
Jennifer understood what Timothy meant, and she didn’t refuse.
Back at King Villa, Jennifer went straight to bed without eating dinner. She’d barely slept last night and had such a busy day.
Timothy didn’t wake her, quietly tucking her in and setting her phone to silence.
But when he went downstairs, he found Angelina waiting.
“Grandma,” he said, somewhat surprised.
“Where’s Jennifer? I heard she had a rough time today, so I came to check on her.”
Angelina knew everything that had happened, including the slap Jennifer had received, and Angelina was very concerned.
Timothy explained, “She’s asleep now. I don’t think she got any

“Oh, right. I should have thought of that.”

Angelina looked at Timothy with twinkling eyes. “You did well today, standing up for Jennifer. As for your mother, I’ll handle that myself.”
As a son, Timothy couldn’t really say anything, but his grandmother could certainly speak her mind.
Timothy hesitated before saying, “Grandma, there’s something I’d like to discuss with you.”
It was about Jennifer.
