Chapter 309 What’s There to Fear
Jennifer laughed. “Fine. Then you’ll have to clean up my messes. from now on.
“There’s no need to endure anything from the Hargreaves or Clark families. Whatever you do, my grandmother will back you up. What’s there to fear?”
Jennifer was relieved. She hadn’t expected Timothy to think this
way.
If Millie left her alone, Jennifer wouldn’t deliberately stir up trouble.
After dinner, she returned to the study. She still had much to
prepare.
As time passed, Timothy saw that it was getting late and she was still in the study. He couldn’t help but go in to check on her. “You don’t have to rush,” he said. “I’m not in that much of a hurry.”
His leg had been like this for years. A few more days wouldn’t make a difference..
Jennifer didn’t look up. “Time is tight.”
She spoke absentmindedly, recalling Millie’s earlier urgency. Someone was clearly in a hurry.

Timothy hesitated. “Are you really in that much of a rush?”

He wondered, “Does she want to heal my leg so badly just to end our contract marriage sooner?”
Jennifer looked at him, confused. “Of course.”
She thought, Doesn’t he want to get better soon? After all, het still has tulips in the garden that his ex–girlfriend loved. Doesn’t he want to recover quickly and go find her?”
Timothy’s mood darkened slightly, and he replied stiffly, “Do whatever you want.”
With that, he left.
Jennifer stared after him, baffled. She was working hard to find information just so he could get better soon.
She couldn’t understand why he was angry.
She began to see why others said Timothy had a strange temper.
Realizing how late it was, she decided to call it a night.
Shutting down her computer, she headed to the bedroom.
Timothy was already lying down.
Jennifer tiptoed through her routine before slipping into bed.

Glancing at him, she recalled his earlier irritation and felt
uneasy.

Unable to sleep, Jennifer tossed and turned.
Suddenly, Timothy’s low voice broke the silence. “Can’t sleep?”
She stiffened, whispering back, “You’re awake?”
“You woke me.”
Jennifer felt sorry.
She murmured, “Go back to sleep, then.”
Moments later, an arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her into his embrace.
Jennifer froze, her back pressing against his broad chest.
She could feel his breath against her ear, and memories of their past moments together flooded her mind, heating her face.
“Is he… going to do something again?” she wondered.
She stiffened and waited, but Timothy made no further moves.
She turned her head, and her face brushed against something
soft.
He lowered his head, his breath deepening. “If anyone from the Clark family ever dares to bully you again, don’t hesitate to fight
Chapter 309 What’s There to Fear back. No one can touch you.”

The room was pitch black, and neither of them could see each
other’s faces.
In the darkness, Jennifer felt a rare sense of security. “What about your mother?” she asked.
“I told her that if she alienates you, I’ll never recover and will remain crippled for life. She won’t dare push you anymore.”
“That’s more like it.”
Timothy’s tone softened. “I’ve transferred Kinglet Villa to your name. If you want to redecorate, feel free.”
Jennifer blinked in surprise. “You’re serious?”
He had mentioned this before, but she had dismissed it.
Now, she realized he wasn’t joking.
Her face warmed as he gently cupped her cheeks. “Think of it as compensation for how my mother treated you.”
Timothy had never forgotten the times Jennifer had been wronged.
Jennifer’s feelings grew complicated. His gestures to comfort her caught her off guard.
She fell silent. There seemed to be a new closeness between
Chapter 309 What’s There to Fear them.
Jennifer could feel the sweetness in the air, but she knew she couldn’t let it continue. Getting closer to Timothy would only make her fall deeper into this unrequited love.
She smiled faintly, teasing, “So if one slap earns me a villa, should I let them hit me more often?”
Timothy smirked. “Aren’t you worried they’ll ruin your pretty face?”
