The bodyguard closed in on her, clearly leaving no chance for
escape.
It seemed Millie was determined to play hardball today.

Jennifer looked at Millie and said, “I’m Timothy’s fiancée now. Do you really think forcing me to apologize will save face for the Clark family?”
“Jennifer, spare me the theatrics. Face–saving doesn’t matter right now. I only care about when my son’s leg will heal. Nothing is more important than that,” Millie said, her eyes blazing with
urgency.
Millie knew that pressuring Jennifer into apologizing to the Hargreaves family would undoubtedly be a slap in the face to her son.
After all, when had the Clark family ever begged anyone for anything?
But at this moment, she couldn’t afford to think about pride.
If Jennifer could smooth things over with Dylan and keep the Hargreaves family focused on developing the special medicine, then forcing Jennifer to apologize wouldn’t be such a big deal.
At least it wouldn’t mean her son had to bow down. With that

thought, Millic found it somewhat acceptable.
Once her son’s leg fully recovered, she could break off the
engagement with Jennifer, and by then, Jennifer would have no ties to the Clark family.
She would still be with the Hargreaves family, and any humiliation would fall solely on them.
Jennifer glared at the approaching bodyguard. “You’d better think twice before laying a hand on me.”
Millie stepped closer, her voice low and threatening. “At this point, do you really think you get to make the choices here?”
After all, when she had confronted Jennifer yesterday, this woman had refused to cooperate. Today, Millie wasn’t about to hold back.
A flicker of regret crossed Jennifer’s mind.
She should have listened to Timothy and taken some self–defense classes.
At least then, she could have fought back instead of being cornered into an apology.
Seeing Jennifer being cornered by the bodyguard, Sarah feigned concern and stepped forward. “Jennifer, we’re all family here. There’s no need to make a fuss. But what you did last time was really out of line, and that’s why Dylan is upset.”

Jennifer shot her a sarcastic look. “Spare me the fake sympathy.”

“Come on, Jennifer. Just apologize. We’re still family, and I’m sure Dylan will do everything he can to help with the special medicine,” Sarah insisted, casting a meaningful glance at Millie.
Her words were a clear signal: Millic needed to make sure Jennifer apologized and kept the Hargreaves family satisfied.
Otherwise, Timothy’s leg would never heal.
Millie, seizing the moment, barked at the bodyguard, “What are you waiting for? Restrain her and make her apologize. If she refuses, break her leg!”
Today, this issue had to be resolved.
As Millie’s command echoed in the air, pain shot through Jennifer’s leg, causing her to buckle and fall to the ground, her face drained of color.
But she still looked up defiantly at Millie.
“Do you really believe what they’re saying? Today, they can force me to apologize, but tomorrow, they’ll come up with other demands that will make the Clark family bend over backward. Are you willing to let them walk all over you forever?”
Jennifer remembered how, in her past life, Dylan had leveraged the special medicine to extract countless concessions from the Clark family.

The Hargreaves family had skyrocketed in status due to those deals, becoming a hotshot family in high society.
Even Sarah’s position had elevated, turning her into a socialite.
Sarah loomed over Jennifer, a condescending smile on her face. “Jennifer, don’t you dare slander Dylan. We’re not like that.”
Dylan nodded. “That’s right. Our relationship with the Clark family has always been good. The success of the special medicine owes a lot to their support. But it was you, Jennifer, who stirred things up and caused misunderstandings between us and the Clark family.”
Seeing Jennifer on the ground, he felt a sense of satisfaction. wash over him.
He fixed his gaze on her and added, “Considering we’re family, all you have to do is sincerely apologize, and I’ll forgive you.”
Millie chimed in, “Jennifer, did you hear what Dylan said? Apologize now; don’t delay my son’s treatment any longer.”
Pain coursed through Jennifer’s knee, spreading like wildfire throughout her body.
Gritting her teeth, she looked up at Dylan defiantly. “I didn’t do anything wrong. Why should I apologize?”
