Chapter 339 Next Year’s Wedding
Despite everything that had gone down, Jennifer couldn’t forget her arrangement with Timothy.
After all, this whole fiancé thing was just for show.
Now, with Angelina bringing up wedding plans, Jennifer was at
a total loss for words. What was she supposed to say?
She could only look to Timothy, hoping he’d handle this curveball.
Angelina followed Jennifer’s gaze. “What’s wrong, Timothy? You’re not on board?”
Jennifer had to bite back a laugh. She watched Timothy curiously, wondering how he’d handle this.
He shot her a look she couldn’t quite read, then simply said, “Sure.”
Jennifer nearly choked. “Wait, what?” she thought. “He actually agreed? Has he lost his mind?”
Her heart started racing. Did Timothy even understand what he was agreeing to?
Their arrangement didn’t include anything about a wedding!

Angelina’s face lit up instantly. “That’s perfect! I was thinking we could have done it this year, but now that Timothy’s leg will be healed, he can wear a handsome suit to marry his bride next year. No regrets that way.”
Jennifer stared at Angelina’s beaming face, completely at a loss for words.
She turned to Timothy, frustrated. Didn’t he realize that making casual promises could really hurt people?
Now Angelina would be counting down the days until next year’s wedding.
If they told Angelina they were calling off the engagement, it would break her heart.
Jennifer couldn’t figure out why Timothy would say something like that.
Angelina caught their little exchange and turned to Jennifer. “Dear, do you have any thoughts about the wedding next year?”
“Not really.” Jennifer quickly shook her head.
“Sweetheart, this is your special day we’re talking about.” Angelina squeezed her hand warmly. “If there’s anything specific you want, just say the word. I will make it happen for you both.”
Jennifer’s mind went blank. How could she possibly respond?

The truth was, she wasn’t thinking about wedding details–she was stuck on the fact that this wedding wasn’t even going to happen.
That definitely wasn’t something she could tell Angelina.
While Jennifer was still wrestling with what to say, Timothy stepped forward and took her hand. “Grandma, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. We can figure out the details next year.”
Absolutely not!” Angelina protested. “A wedding isn’t something you throw together last minute. We need to start planning now so everything’s perfect once your leg heals. We can’t just rush through this–Jennifer deserves better than that.”
Angelina was more impressed with Jennifer by the day.
She never imagined she’d find someone so exceptional, let alone someone capable of developing such a groundbreaking drug.
“Grandma, I really don’t feel it’s unfair,” Jennifer rushed to explain. “I’m totally on the same page as Timothy. Let’s revisit this next year… I can’t make any guarantees about how the drug research will progress.”
“Well, if you both feel so strongly about it, I’ll defer to your judgment.”
Angelina was in high spirits as she turned to Jennifer. “Jennifer, honey, make sure you get some proper rest these next few days. If anyone from the Clark or Hargreaves families gives you trouble, you come straight to me.”

After all, at such a crucial stage, she wouldn’t let anyone mess. with Jennifer’s work.
Jennifer nodded obediently. “I understand, Grandma.”
Timothy, still holding Jennifer’s hand in a firm grip, spoke up, “Grandma, I can handle all of this. No need for you to worry.”
Jennifer glanced down at his tight grip on her hand but stayed quiet.
Angelina let out a frustrated sigh. “Sure, you can handle it… but look how you dealt with the research facility situation. Not exactly your most level–headed moment, was it? I get that you wanted payback for Jennifer, but you don’t want to stir up more trouble and make her worry, right?”
Jennifer nodded. “I’m with you on this one, Grandma. Sure, I’m fuming about what they did, but killing them would only create more problems for us.”
Angelina gave Jennifer’s hand a gentle pat. “Don’t you worry, dear. I’m going to make sure they pay for what they’ve done.”
“Come on, Grandma,” Timothy groaned. “Can’t you let me handle this one?”
A smile spread across Angelina’s face. “Alright, I won’t steal your thunder. Jennifer, you get some rest now.”
Jennifer watched Angelina leave, then turned to Timothy with a

She couldn’t quite figure out what was going on in his head.
