The photos were well–taken… gorgeous, in fact.
Jennifer glanced at them briefly before closing the webpage. She’d known about the complicated history between Timothy and that woman long before this.
The only difference now was that the public had been let in on it. a little sooner than expected.
“Jennifer, you don’t look too good after seeing that news. Is it true he’s back with that woman? What are you going to do about it?”
One of the guys said with a smirk, “I bet you’re calm on the outside, but inside you’re probably freaking out. Without the Clark family’s influence, let’s see how long you can keep up the
act.”
Jennifer kept her expression cool and indifferent. “Do you two want to see what Sarah looks like now?”
She pulled out her phone, unlocking it and opening her photo. gallery.
Inside were the pictures she’d taken at the hospital yesterday.

Both men’s faces went pale when they saw Sarah’s full–face shots. One of them stammered, “How could she have ended up like this?”
In the photos Sarah had posted on the campus forum, only a small part of her injury was visible, just enough to give the impression that it wasn’t a big deal, and her face still looked perfect.
The other students crowded around, some whispered…
“Oh my God, I thought it was just a little scrape, but her neck’s all scarred up. She looks… horrible.”
“She’s got scars on her face too, but it’s not as bad, thankfully.”
Jennifer took a step back and looked at the two men with a sarcastic smile. “You two were so sweet to Sarah. She’ll definitely appreciate it when she comes back.”
The two men exchanged uncertain glances but didn’t speak up.
No one had expected Sarah to look so bad, and the scarring was so severe it was clear she wouldn’t heal properly.
No man could accept that.
Jennifer could tell they were already backing off, and the cold. smile that played on her lips deepened. She wasn’t surprised.
Those guys had been all about Sarah’s looks, and now that she was scarred, would they still be interested?

The pictures spread like wildfire around the school, but Jennifer didn’t bother posting them on the campus forum.
Word was already out, and Sarah’s most valuable asset, her image, was gone.
Jennifer’s mood, however, was still clouded. She hadn’t expected the woman from Timothy’s past to come back into the picture so quickly.
After class, while Jennifer was discussing assignments with a few classmates, a group of police officers walked into the room.
“Are you Jennifer Hargreaves?” one of them asked.
“Yes, that’s me,” she replied, her voice steady.
“We’ve received a report accusing you of intentionally injuring Sarah Campbell, leading to her disfigurement. We need to take you in for questioning.”
Jennifer was surprised. She hadn’t expected Sarah to take things
this far.
It seemed like the gossip had reached Sarah’s cars, and in her anger, she’d gone to the police.
Jennifer stood up without hesitation. “Alright, I’ll go.”
If this case went further, Sarah wouldn’t be able to escape blame.

She followed the officers to the station, where she explained. everything calmly.

The officers exchanged a glance. “This involves a lot of people. We’ll need to interview everyone.”
Jennifer smiled faintly. “No problem.”
Before long, both Dylan and Sarah were called in for questioning as well.
When Dylan found out that Sarah had involved the police, he was floored.
“Are you out of your mind?” he exclaimed, barely able to contain his frustration.
If the police got involved, the Hargreaves family would be dragged into a scandal. Nothing good could come from this.
Sarah, on the other hand, was fuming. “Dylan, Jennifer spread my photo all over the school! I can’t just let it go.”
Previously, Sarah had shared a selective photo of her injury to frame Jennifer, one that made it seem much less severe. Her face still looked flawless.
But Jennifer’s photos had shown the full extent of the damage, ugly, jagged scars across her neck, and it was clear she’d never be the same. How could Sarah face anyone after that?

Sarah lowered her head, feeling deeply wronged. “I just wanted to teach Jennifer a lesson.”
Dylan shook his head. “This is beyond stupid. You need to tell the police this is just a family dispute. We don’t need this turning into a public scandal.”
Dylan didn’t want things to spiral further out of control.
But Sarah wouldn’t back down. She wanted Jennifer to suffer.
Now that Dylan’s attitude toward her had turned colder, she couldn’t help but wonder–if she didn’t make a move, how long would it take for the scars on her neck to heal?
Dylan glared at Sarah. “Listen to me. Explain to the police that this was a misunderstanding. Do you hear me?”
But Sarah refused to cooperate.
