Stetan was the loathsome man Yoana was talking about. I shook my head, and with my mood hitting rock bottom. I told her what I unearthed
The news floored Yoana. Her eyes went wide and her jaw dropped.
However, she was my best friend, so even if she wasn’t fully convinced herself, she still declared, “I think.. the one who should burn in the depths of hell is your biological father. Also, Stefan’s father’s feelings for your mother have nothing to do with you, so you don’t have to be so concerned about it.”
I knew Yoana was right, but this revelation was still the rift that stood between Stefan and me. No matter how hard I tried to move past it. I couldn’t.
My heart grew even heavier. I felt so sufled by the weight of the emotions that I gulped down my beer. Even so, the stuffy feeling in my chest didn’t go away.
After seeing the things my mother left behind, there was one more thing I wanted to do. I wanted to find my biological father and give that heartless man all the letters that my mother hadn’t been able to send.
At any rate, I wanted to let that man know just how much of a b*stard he was for ruining a woman’s life!
All of a sudden, a familiar voice cut in. It was a woman’s.
“What a coincidence, Dr. Sutton. I never thought someone who looked so prim and proper dressed in her white coat during the day would come to this sort of place after work.”

Veronica pursed her lips. She was still staring at me. “What I wanted to tell you back at the hospital was… that I accidentally saw a photo of you in Stefan’s phone once.”
“What did you say?”

Why would Stefan keep a photo of me on his phone? Didn’t he detest me to the highest degree?
I eyed Veronica in puzzlement, but she purposely stayed silent. She had a suggestive smile on her face.
I was even more confused now. What on earth did she mean by this?
If Veronica had indeed seen a photo of me on Stefan’s phone, then shouldn’t she consider me her rival in love?
Why isn’t the showing any signs of dislike toward me!
