Part 24
One human, one wolf, one dog. I thought life
would continue peacefully like this.
Until I was kidnapped.
The kidnapper was a scrawny young man, one
of Alexander Grey’s rivals, ranting into his
phone, demanding my life as retribution. Seems
like that ice–cold older brother made quite a
few enemies, I thought to myself.
This kidnapper was clearly inexperienced. He
put on a tough act, but… he hadn’t even
bothered to drug me.
The bracelet Ethan had given me was specially
made. It contained a small blade. I carefully
<
extracted the blade, cut the ropes binding my
wrists, and while the kidnapper was still ranting
into his phone, I grabbed a nearby knife and
held it to his throat.
He was alone in the abandoned warehouse.
I tied him up, but the more I thought about it,
the more something seemed off. How did this
incompetent idiot manage to bypass security
and kidnap me?
It wasn’t until Alexander Grey found me, his
face grim, that I learned the truth. “Something’s
happened to Ethan.”
