Chapter 379 Sarah on the Subway
Sarah quickly turned to the two sycophants, saying, “I can’t eat any more right now, but thank you so much for buying me food. You two really are my best funds. I’ll remember this,
When Sarah played the fragile, grateful card, she was pretty convincing.
The spoophants didn’t question her words and immediately responded, “Once you get back to Hargreaves Villa, let us know you’re safe, so we can make sure you’re okay.”
Sarah beamed with gratitude. I will, Ill let you know. Thank you for your concern.
Jennifer saw right through Sarah act. But what good would it do to say anything so these twa?
Between them, they probably didn’t even have a couple hundred bucks to spare
Jennifer walked out of the school and headed straight for the subway.
Sarah followed behind. “Arent you going to take a cab back? Why are younding public transport
Jennifer glanced back at her. You can take a cab if you want. I’m taking the subway. See you at Hargreaves Villa

Sarah, clearly frustrated, shot back, “Do you think I have money to take a cab right now? You should be the one offering to take me to Hargreaves Villa
Jennifer smrked. Thy should I offer you anythin
you anything? If you want to g
want to go back, go ahead. I’m not your personal chauffeur,”
“You’re not worried that everyone in class will find out? They’ll all turn on you.”
Jennifer turned around with a cold laugh. “What do I have to fear? I’m not broke, but you are. Let’s see how long you can hold out.”
She glanced at Sarah and added, Didn’t you get some money from everyone? You could at least use that to take a cab.”
Sarah’s face tristed. This little bit of money is barely enough to cover a cab fare.”
She had planned to use that money to buy data for the project, not wastest on a cab ride.
Jennifer ignored her and continued on her way, not sparing Sarah another glance.
But Sarah did follow her onto the subway in the end.
Jennifer realized that Sarah clearly didn’t even have enough for a cab fare.
Chapter 370 Sarah on the Subway
She might have tried to take advantage of Jennifer, but Jennifer wasn’t going to let her.
Sarah wrapped a scarf tightly around her neck, looking almost absurd. As she got on the subway, several people began staring at her.
She huddled in a corner, trying to ignore their gazes.
She despised the attention but had no choice but to endure it. Inwardly, she cursed Jennifer repeatedly.
If Jennifer had taken a cab, none of this would have happened.
After a few more train rides, they finally arrived at Hargreaves Villa.
Jennifer usually took a cab for the final stretch, but today, she deliberately walked back.
Behind her, Sarah was seething with frustration. She knew Jennifer was doing this on purpose.
When they reached the villa, Sarah finally relaxed a little.
Involving the cops was a huge mistake, but she was now back in familiar territory and was confident she could figure out how to stay there. She wasn’t going to let herself be kicked out of this luxurious
mansion.
Jennifer walked straight into the villa without a second thought.
Sarah followed, finally feeling some relief. Now that she was back, she could come up with a plan to stay.
At that moment, the butler, James, approached them, looking at Sarah with concern. “Why are you out of the hospital so soon? Aren’t your injuries still healing?”
Sarah felt a bit awkward and quickly replied, “I just got tired of being in the hospital, so I came home.”
Jennifer, hearing this, couldn’t help but sneer. “Tired of being in the hospital? She was actually kicked out and had no place to go, so she had to shamelessly return with me.”
Sarah fell silent, embarrassed.
But James quickly came to Sarah’s defense, saying, “That’s too harsh, Ms. Hargreaves. Ms. Campbell’s injuries were serious. There’s no way she was kicked out of the hospital.”
