Chapter 20 Allergic to Milk
Upon hearing Michelle’s voice, Marcus cried even more aggrievedly. She sat on the sofa and hugged him.
“Don’t cry, Marcus. It’s all right. It’s all my fault.”
“Michelle, I don’t want my mother anymore. She is a bad woman!”

Anthony’s face darkened extremely. Michelle looked at him with an embarrassed expression.
“Marcus called me today. I knew it was a parent–child party and that Abigail had promised him that she would go. I was worried. that Abigail might misunderstand if I went. After all, having a conflict, so… It’s all my fault.”

Anthony gazed at Michelle’s guilty expression and grew even more dissatisfied with Abigail.
“It’s not your fault. It is Abigail who is to blame. She’s really crazy. I don’t care if she is angry with me, but Marcus is still a child!”
Michelle quickly nodded. “Abigail really went too far in this matter.”
Marcus trembled with sobs, and only after she had soothed him did he feel better.

After all, he was a child. He hadn’t eaten anything for the whole morning, and his stomach rumbled with hunger.
“Michelle. I want to cat cake.”
Michelle nodded and said, “Okay. Be good, Marcus. I’ll make it for you right away.”
She took off her coat, rolled up her sleeves, and went into the
kitchen.
Marcus hugged Anthony’s thighs.
“Dad, are you and Mom getting a
divorce?”
Anthony was stunned. He had never really considered divorce, believing that Abigail couldn’t live without him.
“Don’t get involved in adult matters. If you dare to run out again, I’ll punish you.”
Marcus was displeased at not receiving the expected reply.
But it took a while before Michelle came out of the kitchen with a few small cakes and some delicious side dishes.
She sat at the dinner table with Marcus and handed some food to Anthony.
“Fortunately, Marcus is fine.”

Then, she glanced at Marcus. “Marcus, you can’t sneak away anymore, understand?”
He nodded, picked up a cake, and took a bite.

Marcus chewed it and found it weird. He immediately frowned and set the cake down.
Michelle put down her fork and asked, “What’s wrong? Is it not tasty?”
Marcus nodded honestly. “I don’t like it. Michelle, can you make a cake that tastes the same as my mother’s?”
Michelle was embarrassed.
Anthony put down his fork and stared at Marcus sternly.
“She worked so hard to make it for you. Eat it quickly!”
Marcus, afraid of Anthony, could only pick up the cake to continue eating with a frown.
However, after a few bites, he experienced severe itching all over, and small red spots suddenly appeared on his body.
“Dad, Michelle, I am feeling uncomfortable.”
Only then did Michelle and Anthony notice that Marcus was allergic.
In an instant, they lost their appetite, got up, and carried

“How are you, Marcus? Do you feel any discomfort?” Anthony was so anxious that sweat broke out on his forehead.
“I feel itchy all over.”
Marcus reached out to scratch himself, which would only make the allergy worse.
Michelle grabbed his hands to stop him.
Suddenly, Anthony thought of the cake just now and came back to his senses.
“Did you add milk to the cake you just made?”
Michelle was startled. “Yes. What’s wrong? Is Marcus allergic to milk?”
Anthony soon realized what was going on and slapped his forehead in annoyance.
Although Marcus spent most of his time with Diana, Abigail took care of his every need on her own.
Therefore, his milk allergy was always ignored.
As everyone was anxious, Anthony immediately called Abigail.
At that moment, Abigail had just arrived home and hadn’t even sat down on the sofa.

Learning that Marcus was allergic, she subconsciously wanted to rush out to find him.
But she soon reacted and gritted her teeth to restrain herself.
“The allergy medicine is on the second layer of the medicine box. Just feed it to him according to the instructions. He is allergic to milk, so remember not to give him dairy products in the future.”
Anthony hurriedly took out the medicine and gave it to Marcus.
After a while, Marcus got better.
Yet, he couldn’t go to kindergarten due to his allergy, and someone had to stay to look after him.
In the past, when he was sick, Abigail used to nurse him from dawn to dusk, and she was most attentive and skillful.
Anthony frowned. “We have to go to work soon. Come back and take care of Marcus.”
Abigail was calm at his imperious command.
“I won’t go back. Marcus doesn’t want me to be his mother, so naturally, he doesn’t want me to take care of him.”
“Abigail!” Anthony’s eyes turned bloodshot with anger. “Stop making a fuss. Come back right now!”
Abigail didn’t bother to explain anything to him. Even if she

stressed that she wanted a divorce, he would still assume that she was just throwing a tantrum.
Since he didn’t believe her, she would not argue with him.
After hanging up, she changed her clothes and went to the kitchen to cook.
Hearing the busy tone on the phone, Anthony almost threw his phone to the floor in his rage.
Yet, he could only grit his teeth to suppress his urge for fear of scaring Marcus.
Michelle was incredibly delighted that Anthony and Abigail must have had a conflict again.
With Abigail unwilling to return, she would not miss such a good opportunity.
“It’s okay. Maybe Abigail is still angry. Go to work. I’ll take care of Marcus.”
Marcus grabbed Michelle’s arm.
“I don’t want Mom to take care of me. I want Michelle.”
Anthony had no other choice at that moment as there was an emergency meeting to be held at the company.
In the end, he entrusted Marcus to Michelle and then went to the company.

On his way, the more he thought about Abigail, the more upset he grew. He wanted to slap her in the face right away.
Meanwhile, Abigail prepared the meal and messaged Felix.
[Are you free at noon? I’d like to treat you to a meal as a token of my gratitude.]
After a while, Felix replied: [I have to work overtime at the company at noon. If you don’t mind, come to my office.]
Thinking that it was a good idea, Abigail packed the dishes in thermos lunchboxes.
Then, she headed towards Felix’s office according to the location sent by him.
His law firm was not far from the residential compound. It just took a 20–minute walk.
Abigail arrived at the entrance, only to discover that his law firm was very large, located in a high–rise office building, occupying the 16th, 17th, and 18th floors.
There were hundreds of employees.
As soon as she entered, a receptionist stood up to greet her.
“Are you Ms. Taylor?”
Abigail nodded. “Yes.”

The receptionist led the way, and Abigail followed her upstairs. Felix’s office was on the easternmost side of the 18th floor.
When they reached the door, the receptionist left.
Abigail knocked on the door.
“Come in.”
Upon hearing Felix’s reply, she pushed the door open and entered.
