CHAPTER 19 A DECLARED ENEMY
In the garden of the Ashford mansion.
“My dear Coraline!” exclaimed Inesa with enthusiasm.
Sebastian’s mother stood up and hugged her.
“Dear, you finally decide to visit me”
Tve had a lot of work. But here I am, as I promised” said Inesa, smiling
Immediately. Sebastian’s mother signaled to one of the maids to bring tea. As they settled down, Inesa delicately mentioned,
“I heard about Nicholas, it’s practically a tragedy.”
Coraline sighed deeply before responding.
“Yes, we are all devastated. Nicholas is the light of this house.”
“I know,” said Inesa, with feigned concern, and I will do everything I can to support Sebastian”
There was a brief silence before Coraline asked.
“Did my son already tell you what the solution is?”
“Solution!” Inesa frowned, confused.
“Yes, the doctor spoke to them yesterday…
“Wait, them? Who?”
“His assistant was with him, she walked in with Sebastian, she seemed like a worried mother explained Coraline, revealing disapproval
Inesa’s hands clenched, but she controlled herself.
“And what did he tell them!”
Coraline, with a heavy pause, finally said,
“Oh, dear, I know this will hurt you. And more than anyone, I wish you would marry Sebastian. But the doctor said Nicholas needs a sibling Sebastián must have another child.”
The news shocked Inesa, leaving her speechless for a moment.
“No, that can’t be,” she murmured. “I know, I know it’s difficult. But it’s the only way out. Sebastin told us last night, his father agreed very quickly. However, I still think… I don’t like that little girl. And marrying her? Even less!”
“What? Marry?! How can he marry her!!” Inesa shouted, unable to hide her shock.

“No, you can’t accept that woman?” Inesa lost her temper, her voice loaded with pain and frustration. Tve loved your son for years, I’ve always supported him, and he chooses someone else! A nobody!! Why? Why can’t I be the mother of Nicholas’s sibling? Why?!”
“Calm down, dear,” Coraline tried to soothe her. “You’re right, you more than anyone deserve my son. But what can I do
“Oppose it” she said firmly, her gaze fixed on Sebastian’s mother. “Don’t accept it, don’t accept that woman”

“We don’t know who she is. What if she has other motives? What if she doesn’t want to leave later? You can’t let your grandson have a perfect stranger as a mother. Do you know how many cases there are of women who mistreat their stepchildren? Who beat them? Think of Nicholas! Do you want that for him?”
Coraline remained silent. Inesa’s words echoing in her mind. The concern for Nicholas’s well–being and the future of her family overwhelmed her. It was evident that Inesa had a point, and the possibility of introducing a stranger into her grandson’s life, with all the uncertainties that entailed,
was terrifying-
Finally, Coraline nodded slowly.
“You’re right. Inesa. I can’t take the risk. Nicholas and the well–being of my family come first, I can’t… 1 must not accept this situation without more.”
Inesa, though still agitated, smiled inwardly, Sebastian’s mother had always been easy to manipulate
“So, will you do something about it?”
“Yes, of course I will” Coraline responded. Tll talk to Sebastian. He must understand that he can’t make such important decisions based on desperation or a doctor’s advice. He must think about the long–term consequences.
When Inesa left the mansion, she dialed a private number.
“We need to meet
The person on the other end agreed.
Hotel Warriors, the same room as always. Don’t be late.”
Inesa hung up and started the car, her eyes had a dark look, she was
s determined not to let anyone stand in her way of becoming Sebastian’s wife.
