Chapter 61 Abigail’s Plan
Abigail shook her head, her tone firm. “You really shouldn’t get involved in this. If Anthony finds out, it could affect your work.”
Lucy patted her chest with confidence. “Don’t worry, Madam. I won’t let Mr. Robinson find out. Besides, even if he does, it won’t be a problem. I’ve been with the Robinson family for years, and thanks to the generous pay you’ve given me, I’ve saved up a lot. If I lose this job, I’ll find something else. You don’t have to worry about me.”
Abigail could tell Lucy meant well, and she was deeply moved by her concern.
But the more she insisted, the more Abigail felt she couldn’t let her get dragged into this.
She sighed and shook her head. “I’ve got it covered. You don’t need to worry, really.”
Only then did Lucy seem to relax and return to her chores.
Though Abigail had spent many years in this house, it no longer felt like home. Instead of comfort, she felt an overwhelming sense of unease, as if she didn’t belong.
After a moment, she checked the time, then grabbed her phone and called Justin.

“Abigail, calling me at this hour… Did something happen?”

Abigail kept her voice even. “No trouble. I just need to ask you. something.”
“Don’t be so formal. Just ask.”
Abigail hesitated for a moment, her fingers gripping the edge of her shirt as she searched for the right words.
“I want to know… If I called the police to report someone for engaging in illegal sex at a hotel, would they respond right away?”
“Of course. If it’s a real–name report, we treat it seriously.”
Abigail pressed on, “And after you arrive at the scene and take them back to the station, what kind of questions do you ask?”
Justin thought for a moment. “Usually, both parties deny it, but we verify their relationship. If they admit to being a couple and can prove it, we’ll take their statements and let them go. If they can’t prove they’re a couple, we’ll detain them and investigate further.”
Abigail nodded, processing the information. “And if the court asks for the police records as evidence for a case, would the police cooperate?”
“It depends on the case,” Justin replied, then paused. “But… why are you asking all this?”

Before Abigail could respond, Justin seemed to have figured it
out.
“You’re planning to divorce your husband and want to find evidence of his affair, right?”
Abigail bit her lip, her voice quiet but resolute. “It’s the only way I can end things quickly.”
Justin understood instantly, seeing the strain in Abigail’s words. It was clear that her marriage to Anthony was full of internal conflict, and the distance between them had only grown since the incident with their child.
“Don’t worry, Abigail. This method will work. Protecting your rights in this way is the smartest move you can make.”
With Justin’s reassurance, Abigail felt a weight lift from her shoulders. It was the confirmation she needed.
She glanced at the clock. By now, Michelle should be making a scene at Anthony’s place.
All Abigail had to do now was wait at the company building and then follow them when they left.
With that thought, Abigail grabbed her coat and headed for the door.
Lucy, seeing the determined look on her face, knew that if Abigail left now, she might never return.

She followed her to the entrance.
“Madam, I’ll always stand by you. No matter where you go, make sure to keep in touch.”
Abigail nodded, a faint smile on her lips. She said a quick goodbye and left, catching a taxi.

As the car pulled up to the entrance of Anthony’s company, Abigail had just stepped out when someone suddenly tapped her on the shoulder from behind.
She turned, startled, only to find it was Amy.
“What are you doing here?” Abigail asked, surprised.
Amy, who usually stayed home late in the day to sleep in before heading to work at her bar, was fully disguised, wearing a mask and a hat, looking like someone who didn’t want to be recognized.
She quickly glanced around, then grabbed Abigail by the arm and pulled her toward the car as if they were sneaking around.
Instead of her usual flashy red convertible, Amy was driving a low–key black sedan, completely different from her usual style.
“Did you get a new car?” Abigail asked, puzzled.
The car didn’t seem like her type at all.
Amy finally took off her mask, planted her hands on her hips,

and shot Abigail an exasperated look.

“A new car? This is just a rental! I got this to help you catch your husband in the act. A car like this is perfect for trailing someone. It’s all about blending in!”
Abigail blinked, a bit taken aback. She’d been trying to avoid
letting anyone else know about her plans, not wanting to worry
anyone.
She hadn’t expected Amy to be in the know, which probably meant Felix knew too.
“How did you find out?”
Amy rolled her eyes dramatically. “How? You seriously asking me that? I’ve always thought of you as my best friend, and then you go and let Justin spill the beans to me! If he hadn’t called me up to tell me what was going on, I’d still be in the dark!”
Abigail winced. She knew Justin had meant well, but now she felt guilty for dragging everyone into this mess.
Noticing Abigail’s discomfort, Amy let out a heavy sigh.
“Look, I’m not saying that divorce is just anyone’s business, but the way you’re doing it? You don’t have to carry all that weight alone. We’re your friends. We help each other out. Don’t keep pushing us away like we’re strangers. You don’t owe us anything. We’re here because we care about you.”
Abigail’s heart warmed at Amy’s words. She nodded, grateful. “I

Amy smirked and rolled her eyes. “Get it? You’re missing the point! You’re about to catch your husband red–handed, and h your husband red–handed, and you didn’t even invite me to watch? Do you know how badly I’ve been wanting to see Michelle embarrass herself? I’ve been waiting for this moment forever! Luckily, Justin gave me the heads–up. I owe him one, big time.”
Abigail had originally thought this whole thing to be
Was gry serious and heavy, but with Amy’s teasing, she couldn’t help but laugh. Maybe it wasn’t going to be so bad after all.
The two of them sat in the car, eyes fixed on the entrance of the underground parking garage, not wanting to miss Anthony and Michelle if they drove out.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the building, Michelle was frantically trying to get to Anthony’s company. He’d been in meetings all day, leaving her to wait around in his office.
Outside, the office area was already buzzing with gossip.
“Who’s in the office? I thought Mr. Robinson hated anyone just barging in without permission?”
“You don’t know? That’s his lover!”
“Wait, what? His wife doesn’t even come by the office that much, and this woman’s already made herself at home?”
