Chapter 68 We Agree to Divorce
“What day is it?” Anthony asked.
Michelle was stunned briefly before replying, “The fifth.”
Anthony checked the time and immediately frowned. “Oh no, I totally forgot that today is the second trial for my divorce case with Abigail. But I have a meeting at 9:30.”
Michelle stood up and leaned toward him. “Work is definitely more important. You’ve got an appointment, and you can’t leave everyone waiting.”
Anthony’s knotted brows gathered more heavily. “I can skip the second trial. I don’t think Abigail will make a fuss if I’m not there.”
Michelle’s eyes suddenly brightened, and she suggested, “What if I attend the second trial for you?”
Anthony looked at her, hesitating. Given the tension between. him and Abigail because of Michelle, sending her to represent him in the divorce would only escalate things.
Plus, he didn’t want to put Michelle through any unnecessary stress, especially considering her health.
Noticing his hesitation, Michelle smiled with feigned understanding. “Don’t worry, Anthony. If no one shows up, the

outcome from the first trial will likely stand. It might be better for me to go and clarify things with Abigail. I’ll do my best to prevent this divorce and keep Marcus in a complete family.”
Anthony knew deep down that he wasn’t keen on the divorce.
But he feared that expressing his true feelings would only upset. Michelle.
Now that Michelle had said so, he felt cornered but eventually agreed. After all, he was anxious about handing this matter over to someone else.
After breakfast, Anthony headed to the office for a meeting while Michelle drove to the courthouse, a triumphant look on her face.
She arrived at 9:10.
When Abigail saw Michelle walk in, she was surprised. She hadn’t expected Anthony and Michelle to be so close that he’d send her to handle the divorce on his behalf.
But it didn’t matter who showed up; the outcome wouldn’t change. In fact, Michelle’s presence only reinforced Abigail’s belief that Anthony was to blame for their marriage falling apart.
Michelle explained to the judge that she was there as a client.
When Abigail realized that the divorce wasn’t as important to Anthony as his meeting, she found it both unsurprising and absurd.

The judge quickly summarized the details of the first trial before both parties stated their demands and reasoning.
Felix stood up, eager to wrap things up swiftly. “We have direct evidence proving that Mr. Robinson cheated on Ms. Taylor and is at fault in this marriage. Based on the first trial’s findings, it’s clear the relationship has irreparably broken down. We are requesting a divorce and the division of their shared property.”
He then asked the court to retrieve the police transcript for evidence.
Sure enough, after more than 10 minutes, the transcript was submitted as direct evidence.
The judge turned to Michelle and Anthony’s lawyer, seated on the defendant’s side. “Do you have anything to add?”
Without hesitation, Michelle smiled and said, “We agree to their request.”
The case was wrapped up swiftly, and the judge ruled for the couple to divorce and split their assets equally.
Abigail was surprised by how smoothly everything went.
She had expected Anthony to complicate matters, but he had sent Michelle simply to say he agreed to the divorce.
Feeling a wave of relief, Abigail stepped out of the courtroom with Felix.

Just as they reached the doors, Michelle caught up to them. “Abigail!”
Abigail and Felix paused and turned to face her.
Michelle wore a smug grin. “Congrats! You’ve finally gotten what you wanted–divorced from Anthony.”

Abigail recognized the provocation. “And congratulations to your too. I finally let him go.”
Michelle’s smile widened. “You’re wrong, Abigail. I didn’t need to wait for you to leave him. Anthony has always cared about. me. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have had to deal with me in your marriage for all these years.”
Abigail opened her mouth to respond, but Felix interjected, “So, you’re proud to be the homewrecker?”
Michelle snorted, “You don’t get it. The one who isn’t loved in a relationship is the real homewrecker. Anthony and I grew up together; I should have always been by his side.”
Felix snorted with disdain. “Yeah, I don’t understand. I’ve never
been a homewrecker.”
As he said this, he scrutinized her. “You feel superior after picking up scraps? You might have some issues. Honestly, you and Anthony deserve each other.”
“What did you say?” Michelle’s face flushed with anger.

Felix ignored her and turned to Abigail. “You really shouldn’t have stopped a trash and a trash collector from being together. You should have divorced him ages ago.
Abigail nodded. “You’re right. My bad.”
Felix patted her shoulder. “It’s good to realize your mistakes and make amends. It’s not too late for them to be together now.”
He then covered his nose and made a disgusted face. “Let’s get out of here. I can smell a slut. It’s disgusting.”
Abigail was so amused by his sarcasm that her stomach hurt from holding her laughter in.
Michelle caught onto their mockery. Shaking with rage, she pointed at Felix and said, “Who are you calling a slut?”
Felix brushed her hand away in disgust and wiped his hands with a tissue. “Whoever gets angry. Just stop waving your hands around. The stench is getting stronger.”
Michelle was left speechless, her face pale from rage.
Abigail struggled to keep her laughter in check, and Felix took her hand, leading her away. “Let’s go. This smell is disgusting. I can’t believe your ex–husband likes a slut.”
As they exited, Abigail also covered her nose dramatically, leaving Michelle behind, seething with frustration.

She ground her teeth and stamped her foot, taking a while to calm down.
Abigail and Felix made their way to the parking lot, and the moment they got inside the car, they burst into laughter.
As Felix saw her laughing so happily, his laugh gradually deepened.

“Mr. Rowe, I didn’t expect you to be so harsh,” Abigail said, still giggling.
Felix beamed with pride. “How can a lawyer do their job without being a bit harsh?”
Abigail doubled over with laughter. “I never imagined the most handsome lawyer could be so rude.”
Felix, unashamed, replied, “I just unleash my wild side when necessary. It’s all in good fun!”
