Chapter 15
No matter how much Jess begged, I kept
saying that I didn’t have any money.

She didn’t get a single dollar from me.
Without money for treatment, Jess’s mother- in–law’s condition worsened, and she died in
the hospital.
No one was by her side. Jess and her husband were fighting over divorce papers.
They had no money, and they couldn’t sell
their house because of the rumor that they
had a relative with leukemia.
They fought over who was responsible for the cancer and had no time to take care of their
child. My aunt finally took the kid.
They divorced soon after, fighting over
custody and all the debts.
I wasn’t paying attention to what was
happening with Jess’s family, because I was

I was hoping to pass both my nutrition and

Jess was killed by him, and her body was
く
found in the wilderness.
Fortunately, her child was sent back to my
aunt’s before this happened.
Jess’s husband, after losing everything,
turned to alcohol, and fell into a river one
night and died.
That was the end of the family that had killed
me in my past life.
I signed a long–term contract with Evelyn. At
first, I was her live–in nanny, taking care of
Ashley. Later, when Ashley was healthy, I
became Evelyn’s personal assistant. I started
to follow her and get involved with company

to follow her and get involved with company
business.
Then, I was promoted to the Chief of Staff of
the CEO’s office, step by step, I reached a
level that I could never have imagined in my
previous life.
Evelyn asked, “Looking back, do you ever
regret working as a nanny?”
I smiled at her.
“No.”
“Every step I’ve taken has counted.
